Matchmaking
This has pretty much been the survivor ranks I've had to face since rank 12. I'm not wrong in saying matchmaking has been complete trash since the recent update, right? Only reason I won this match was because the survivors seemed to think unhooking other survivors directly in front of me entitled them to a free escape and that I would take the clicking flashlight bait.

It's either a bug, or that so many Killers have had enough of the constant nerfs and have finally decided to strike against it by simply not playing.
I myself have stopped playing Killer until all of the unreasonable stuff that Survivors have access to are changed or removed from the game.

My experience as killer for multiple patches, even while I was rank 12 was 4 red ranks...and when it was anything else, even if only one purple, I've been able to see the difference instantly, every time.
As survivor I still get similarly ranked killers to my survivor and killer rank (red) but the survivors are always random ranks..
Earlier on my friend who is red rank survivor went solo queue and got a rank 18 killer with similarly low ranked survivors. It's nonsense.

Most of the time i got a Rainbow-Party and im in red ranks. And the Killer is in this situation far away from "Everyone's within 6 ranks".

Within 6 ranks atm sure, but what about when I was rank 12 facing red ranks? If it's within the 6 ranks I shouldn't have been facing red ranks at that time. I also feel like 6 ranks is too much, it should be within 4. Maybe then I can actually get killer and survivors at my rank when I plays survivor and not ranks 15+

I am honestly on the verge of quitting the game because when you get past rank 8ish, it only ever puts you against people WAY better than you, there is nothing you can do. Even before that there isn't much.
Like to put it in perspective, it puts me, who barely knows the basics of the game at rank 7, against the same players that it puts Otz and Tru3 against.
HOW THE FLYING **** IS THAT FAIR?!
That means you have to be at that level in order to play the game, because even if you are new to the game you will get put against those same people, it's absurd, it's like the devs have never actually seen a functioning matchmaker in their life.

Yeah, I played 13 games as survivor today on rank 5, and 4, and every single time we got killer in either green ranks or low purple ranks.

Probably me! I can't even learn to play because I get put against survivors who have the loops and timing down so well I often lose WITH ZERO HOOKS almost every match. Now I don't mind losing, but I've come to accept that I can't win even if I try, so I've just about resigned myself to meme matches at this point.
Eventually the interest in even that is going to fade, and I am just going to go play a different game instead. This is what made me quit DBD the first time, looks like it's gonna be what makes me quit the second time and probably for good- it was foolish of me to think the devs would ever take this problem seriously.

The thing is that Dbd is not a competetive horror game, but a party game. You have 4 survivors who are having the time of their life, and 1 killer who is there for their amusement. Atleast thats how it feels like when you are not playing Nurse or Spirit.

Survivors sure don't like actually challenging matches, I'm about one more loss from just uninstalling. I just want to play a game I feel like MAYBE I MIGHT get one person or at least a few hooks.
I've had ZERO HOOKS THE PAST 7 GAMES. Because it keeps putting me against red rank SWF who are way WAY more experienced in this game than I am.
Like what am I supposed to do with this? This isn't a game at this point, it's just unplayable. I'm not even getting any bloodpoints, if they made it so that at least I could get a lot of bloodpoints even on a hard loss somehow, I would still enjoy it, but no can't even have that.
I think this matchmaker really shows the devs inexperience honestly, it's such a blatant problem but they don't seem to care about doing anything about it.

You should be able to AFK with wraith all game and at least get a hook at the end with NOED.

They loop me so hard I can't even get the one hit needed to down with NOED I am that out classed. I have no business being up against 2000+ hour experienced survivors yet.

There's plenty of mechanics in the game to give killers free hits. Spirit fury + enduring is about as free as they get. Play with your food + nemesis will get you to 130% movespeed for completely unavoidable hits. With the BL nerf, bamboozle now shuts down every infinite in the game. Long term looping doesn't really exist anymore unless you are getting seriously outplayed. I would say the game is now more killer favored than it has ever been.

Matchamaking is just a hard problem to tackle and the devs are doing their best for it?
Try learning some computer languages meant for programming and you'll see a small portion of what they have to work with. Start with C++ maybe?

Survivors may play the game, may not play it. As a solo player in the most cases I farm. Getting my 4 WGLF stacks is the top priority to me. I dont like to end with 10k after playing a full match. I may not do generators alone. I will break totems, open chests, heal, do anything but generators, because Prove Thyself in co-op will get me all the Objective bp for doing only 2-3 of them.
I dont say everyone is farming, but judging deaths and rank numbers is meaningless. Survivors view on the game can be completely different from killers view on the game. Killer only count kills.
Also, if you dont see farming perks - they may be trying out something.
Another thing to think about is skill requiremet to play good. Survivors must know a lot more than killer to survive a game. A single mistake can lead to death. You went to the basement without DS and nobody has BT? - Congratulations. You can stay there.
Also, I dont say that survivors are harder, Im just saying that deaths can mean many things.

As a survivor you can also never see the killer the whole game and get carried by your team. That will never happen as a killer.
In fact you can play super selfish with the goal of getting the hatch each game and hide all game and just hold M1 on gens. I'd say that playstyle is significantly easier than killer.
Sure chases can be hard, but at the same time, it's the only skillful part of the game for survivors. Everything else is holding M1.

They are not trying hard, they are not trying at all to tackle the problem. I can't commend them for their effort if there is no effort to begin with.
I have friends who program, not that it has anything to do with this as I said it's a lack of effort not the difficulty of the challenge, but one of them works for Riot and another works on the Madden games- and both enjoy hearing me explain the games issues to them because they find them hilariously fixable.

I would be more understanding of this if it wasn't for the fact that the devs tend to do more harm than good. With every 1 thing they do well there are 3 things they mess up in the process.
