So how are you supposed to play Legion now?

I'm not complaining about the nerfs or changes or whatever, I haven't played him enough before to comment on that, all I know is that I have been trying to play him all day and I've just been getting walked all over.

Survivors are literally blasting out like most of the pallets on the map to avoid getting hit before even being injured, by all rights I should have NO problem killing them, but they all end up escaping anyways because I just keep wounding them and not getting any hooks. I just can't seem to get anyone in a chase with him because I can't use the power in the chase cause' it won't actually down them.

I think I need bamboozle or something to even have a chance but the bloodweb won't give me it and I leveled him to 50 and beyond.

Anyone got any actual helpful Legion advice?

  • Yeah dear lord this is hard, I don't even have this much trouble with the base 3 killers, this is very difficult X_X

    like an m1 survivor...

  • Yeah the more I play him the more I feel like I am getting punished for using his power.

Like, I feel like if I am using his power correctly and they are letting me hit all of them in a row so easily, it should be reducing the stun at the end of the power or something. That or I just have to as the guy above said, play him as an m1 killer and just never use his power except for maybe moving across the map a bit faster; but at that point there are already killers who do that but better.

I dunno, I just can't enjoy him right now, and yeah it might be because I am bad, but I can play Wraith, Trapper, Nerfed nurse, hell even Clown and Doctor I can usually at least manage somewhat decent....but Legion I can't seem to even get one kill in a match.

    (Preface: I'm a purple/green killer)

I like Legion. If discordance lights up I just run over there and cause havoc. If it's not I just patrol gens and play M1 unless I suspect there's a survivor nearby, then I'll go into frenzy.

Sometimes gens get done, sometimes they don't. I also use frenzy just for travel. Zoom.

Run at people very fast, and vault stuff.

I don't like how Legion plays anymore and a full kit rework is needed at some point in the future (after Clown, etc) I think.

    You could try two things:

    1. Don't use your power until you've hooked one survivor. While he is hooked use it to wound all the survivors and apply pressure when they are trying to go for the unhook. You could potentially have them all injured which will make them easier targets or make them waste time healing.
    2. Once the survivor is unhooked just chase him to hook him again if you come across him, if you don't come across him wound the other survivors to get information until you find him and hook him again.

I think that's basically it, I personally always try to hunt down survivors who have already been hooked with killer instinct to take them out one by one. In case killer instinct isn't giving me any information I just hook the last person I wounded.

I managed a 3k against some red rank SWF group, but dear lord I had to play like the sweatiest of tryhards and I barely pulled even that off.

I am not enjoying it a whole lot either because nothing feels effective, and I just hit everyone in the span of the time the ability was up- and 2 people were already healed to full before the ability ended. Like what is even the point? I think one person had a med kit that might have been it unless they found another one.

I'm just a little salty because I've never had this much trouble with any killer before, I haven't played Legion since like....after his first nerf maybe?

(I would quote you here but I can't because of how your post is for some reason that breaks the forums lol)

Yeah you might be on to something there, because I naturally try not to tunnel folks- but the game seems to really be pressuring me to with how this character's kit works.

  • I think it would also help if this bloodweb gave me any of the suggested perks, It's giving me nothing to really work with either which is frustrating. Why killers have to be so dependent on grinding first is beyond me...but w/e.

Considering his power is so unthreatening now, he's basically just an M1 killer so you have to know what loops can be mindgamed, how to hide your light, etc.

Seriously though, his power is butchered. It feels better using it with the speed but the mend timers are so short that unless 2 survivors are next to each other, the other person will have mended by the time you get to another person. Then throw in the fact that potentially the weakest power in the game still has an instant drain on a miss and a 4 SECOND STUN and you wonder how this got the okay. Meanwhile Billy has map traversal instadowns with less recovery time and no meter required.

  • Well tunneling slightly seemed to work wonders, I guess that's what legion is now? Tunnel or lose? =/

Egh I think ima just play someone else now.

  • Yeah, if they hate his ability so much they may as well just rework him entirely at this point. I want to just be able to parkour around the map as an angsty stabby teen- don't really need all that mending slowdown crap, as a killer or survivor.

Legion is dead now. There is no reason to play this trash killer over any other killer whose power does something. We have to wait for a year at least to see a rework.

Strange, i find that when i start to tunnel is a sure way to lose as Legion

I hope they don't get reworked honestly

I actually really enjoy playing as them

A couple of buffs and tweaks is all they need imo

Sadly, I think the complete rework is the only way forward with them now. Unfortunately, they're at the back of the queue behind Clown, Bubba, etc.

I liked Legion before this recent change, and was actually doing well with them. Sad times.

That's the only luck I have had with red rank SWF so far. Keep in mind my tunneling is still really loose, like, I am still doing other stuff and going after other people but I am prioritizing one at a time.

I don't seem to get anywhere unless I tunnel to some degree.

Also, when I say re-work, literally everything you like about him could be kept, in fact they could amplify it! Once the parts no one cares about are gone, they can make the fun aspects better, or give him entire new features.

You can't say you would hate it more, you don't even know what it could be yet; but it would probably be better because it would be trading out a boring stall mechanic with something more....driven.

Yeah I think clown might be worse, and bubba is getting a rework for sure we know already; but I think Legion feels worse than bubba- but better than clown. Imo though, I know the actual word is different than that.

The build I'm using is just a basic Enduring Spirit fury plus slowdown perks and addons. I usually go Ruin and Thana and then take the Legion pin or the Yellow pin (I forget its name).

Your second addon is pretty much up to your own preference, I usually run the duration addons cause it gives me a higher chance of finding the next survivor during killer instinct. However I've also found that the Iridescent Button works quite nicely as it helps you to easily stack up Spirit fury. If you use the E+SF combo it's important to just tank every pallet when in Frenzy, if you hit them and they stun you with Spirit Fury up it's a guaranteed down.

Legions definitely harder to be successful with but hes still 100% viable if you're looking to rank up. Just try to find the build and playstyle that works for you and stick to it.

I play currentley without addons and only brown sacrifices mostly.

I leveling my Legion up again, after I have a long time not use the prestige possibilitie.

I play currently just with the Legion perks and bitter murmur.

I play mostly m1 mindgames with the survs. Only in rar times I choose the frenzy abilitie. As example if I face stealth teams. There it is really a help. Besides that, I prefer m1 above frenzy and that also means - a lot of time were I would like to use frenzy - I can't because m1 :|.

And that also means, that I need to tunnel a lot, since I can't use frenzy because someone at bhvr thought that would a great idea to make frenzy complicated -_-

I feel like thana is still good on him. Atm I try out some nemesis and pwyf combinations. Really works well on him because you are also even faster in frenzy and with 1 stack pwyf many loops get unsave. Also the addon for applying the broken status effect is awesome. I always go for multiple survs in frenzy. And well thats it. Not sure what my final 2 perks will be.

Monitor and Abuse is actually very good for Legion. Your base terror radius now becomes 24m which is easier to close the gap and hit Survivors early with, then grows to 40m which procs more notice for Killer's Instinct. You can also hit someone, then de-activate your power and hunt them normally.

From a part time Legion main since before their first huge nerf, I've changed from slowdown heavy gameplay to chase heavy gameplay. BBQ, Nurses, Devour Hope, and Bamboozle. Bamboozle isn't needed and you could definitely put something like Brutal Strength, Enduring, or I'm All Ears, but it's nice to prevent anybody from going back through the window you just vaulted. Try to keep everyone in Deep Wounds, and use Frenzy to find people with Killer Instinct. Try to keep your pressure on and your totem up, and always try to be in a chase. Things start steamrolling when you get 3 tokens for DH and if you get 5 you've practically won at that point. Just keep as much pressure on as possible, kicking gens when needed, and always try to be in a chase.

How to play Legion: Walk to a generator and push M1

  • Talmeer
    Talmeer Member Posts: 1,520

Sometimes I wish, Legion would have again her old tr.

Can't remember to catch one ever off guard since the first big Legion patch on a generator.

But... With Ghostface and Meyers it works... :D....

Always make sure everybody's hurt. Do your chases well and you can stall a lot of time. Especially with stuff like Legion Pin, or Nasty Blade. Or the purple Blade.

I play legion quite a bit what I do is I use his power to find where everybody is and constantly keep them wounded and keep them under pressure. Then I end the power right before I need to hit someone a second time to down them. Yes it takes a moment longer for me to down them but if I know where there going they don't get far, you can also use his power to get ahead and block of routes so when the survivor tries to run around you they can't. Power fatigue ends. Quick and easy down. That's normally how most of my legend games play. I'm entering red ranks simply because I never play long enough to simply grind my way all the way up there.

Small map + close survivors = somewhat

Large map + spread out survivors = M1 only

I've discovered the ultimate way to play legion; and I am having fun again. All farm BP perks, you get more for stabbing people than you do if you 4k even if everyone escapes.

So I just go around do that, as long as I get 2 hooks I get max blood point gains, so I don't need to worry about kills at all, and it's fun and not nearly as stressful.

I've actually been having a blast playing this way, and I earned 500k+ BP in like a few hours.

What build do you use on him? Discordance is really strong on him, knowing when survivors are grouped is exactly the info Legion wants and it allows you to interrupt gens that are being done quickly.

All you gotta do is use Frenzy for as many first hits as possible, but know when to cut your losses and cancel your power and down the guy you just hit, instead of chasing someone on the edge of your terror radius.

  • I was running discordance, and that is what I was trying to do but the red rank SWF groups man...it's hard it's really hard even if you know what to do it's hard to do in practice.
