Do rank 1 Leatherfaces even exist?
I'm curious if anyone here plays non-camper style Leatherface builds, and what perks you use. Also, why do you prefer LF over Billy?
I had a lot of fun on Leatherface, but as my rank climbed, generators got done at a ridiculously fast pace so I felt kind of forced into playing a killer with better mobility, Billy. Ever since I made the switch over and got a bit more use to Billy's chainsaw mechanic, I don't regret it at all. Billy just seems far superior in almost every aspect and Leatherface essentially feels like a slow, clunky version of Billy.
Here's a couple examples of what I've noticed about Leatherface: His main and best ability, BBQ, feels useless on him because of how slow he trucks across the map whereas Billy can zip right over and the "data" is still relevant. His chainsaw mechanic, while amazing and soooo much fun, has a huge penalty for bumping into something whereas Billy quickly recovers. You can't effectively patrol generators or exit gates like Billy can. That being said, I just feel like a fat idiot running around on the map while playing LF. I still miss playing LF though because he was a lot of fun. The feeling of hitting 2+ survivors with your chainsaw is so satisfying.
Just curious what you LF mains out there think?

I’ve seen plenty of LFs in Rank 1 as survivor, it just takes time to get a survivor out in the open with nowhere to run, other than that he’s just mediocre. I don’t know if they run with addons 100% of the time, but that certainly makes him more viable in higher ranks

Hi, I'm a Rank 1 LF main. I don't exactly use a camping build, but I do utilize the basement pretty heavily. I use Agitation, Iron Grasp, Territorial Imperative and Monitor and Abuse. You're right about Billy being superior in almost every aspect, but no one punishes altruistic survivors better than a good Leatherface in the right place at the right time, and boy howdy have I seen LOTS of hyper-altruistic survivors at rank 1. I like playing Leatherface because of how easily he can snowball given the right circumstances. I'm also just a fan of the character.

I only play him when I have a daily for him. Even that is painful.

I have a lot of fun with LF but I'm about rank 10, so maybe at high ranks it's not the same..
In my opinion the most OP build for him is about the basement, to punish survivors altruism1 -
Every Leatherface Is saw at rank 1 brought a mori. He would mori 2 then prolong the game with the last 2 before sacrificing them.

YES!, I am in fact a LF main at rank 1 so I guess i'll just state my build here:
BBQ, what you say is correct LF can't take much advantage of hauling his ass across the map for BBQ. BUT I actually use it to notify me if anyone is nearby after I hook someone, thus helping LF out a bit.
Ruin, for obvious reasons
Nurses Calling, I find with LF you have to just try and locate people as quickly as possible under ANY circumstance. NC really helps with that.
Bamboozle, to lessen the harshness of window loops against LF
That is my build and it does ok at rank 1 but realistically you are playing LF so there is only so much you can do.
