New rank reset system is horrible
Just as expected, it's horrible. Tons of potatoes destroying my fun in red/purple ranks.
Just recently against Plague: someone gets infected and Plague leaves him to continue infecting others. That mate IMMEDIATELY cleansed. I knew it was gg at this point and it really was, 3 gens left. I did both with ruin while the others kept cleansing and searching ruin, dying left and right. All of that against "Legit" red rank killers who deserve to be at these ranks.
And this is just one example of many. Thanks devs, you just made solo Q even less enjoyable.
At least dump EVERYONE to rank 20 so the difference between potatoes and and actual skilled players is clearer on higher ranks compared to low ranks.
The new rank reset system will make it worse and worse every month and eventually after a couple of months we will end up with tons of players in red ranks. Green, yellow, and grey ranks will have nearly not players left and the Q times there will be insanely long. It's already very long grey ranks, friends wait 20+ minutes for one single match.

My desire to play solo survivor is basically non existent at this point. I just want some decent teammates at the TOP rank in the game, is that too much to ask? Ranks are actually meaningless these days.

We can add each other on steam so we can Q together if we see eachother online :) tho I would still prefer to play without voice coms, but with that at least we have each other instead of 3 potatoes :)

It’s not even a rank reset anymore.. I basically lost a few pips. It took 3 games to get back to my rank.

I just want to play vs semi competent killer. I played 5 matches today and didn't pip in any of them because it's impossible to pip vs noob without ruin in a match that lasts 3 minutes.
I feel like I'm gonna uninstall this game for good this time.
The incompetence of this dev team on every possible corner is like telling everyone to do that

lol, this reset felt like every other, to me at least. Was at rank 4 most of the month and de pipped to 5 before reset(not purposefully just some bad games) which put me at 9 after reset. Going to take some time to climb back to red but I don't mind. I only play for fun. Complaining is for nerds.

I feel like you were just unlucky. The new ranking system sets you back one color instead of two. If you were a purple rank, you’d be green, therefore all green ranks are the purple ranks. What’s the difference?

Because with the new system it dosent take that long to get back to the Color you were at

Yeah, I get that. How does this tie into being paired up with “noobs”? We’ve only been set back one rank color, and so has everyone else in your previous rank.

I actually like the new system. I'm not a high level, and I went down to 20, but I haven't seen like any change. It seems better so people don't have to pour as much time into the game to get back to the rank they deserve.

Tbh, when i play killer its alright, got to rank 1 for the first time, i was actually enjoying most of the games, but just like you said getting to rank 1 surv with those apes is impossible, i cant count how many times i lost a game due to someone dying under hooked person lol. Im actually thinkin about finding a team to tryhard a bit to get to that rank 1, i mean i have friends that i play with dbd but they are a complete casuals with communication so poor i dont even know if i could call us a swf xD(btw im not playing from my main with them and i dont sweat or abuse baby killers dont get me wrong). When i started playing this game, i was sure tha playing killer is more stressful, skillful and more difficult to hit that rank 1, but the thing is, that as a survivor you cant get out solo and get a checkpoint if you are not lucky. For example just like OP said i had same situation with plague on The Game. Since the map is so small it killed us pretty damn fast. Honestly if there wasnt an achievement for getting that rank 1 on survs i would have given up on that some time ago, but yeah you gotta do what you gotta do if you ever want to plat this game(i know that its closely to impossible, but who knows, mb one day xD).

I have to admit I never really tried to rank up killer but I wish I had your problem. What I do is run borrowed time.
So you start the match on a generator. If there's ruin power through it. When someone gets hooked go unhook him. Don't let anyone else save. Winning/losing the resulting chase doesn't matter much but do your best.
Get back on a generator. Sometimes you win sometimes you don't but the game thinks I deserve pips for doing that.
(I generally run ds/borrowed/alert/self care and avoid chases. Not a confrontational breakout wglf player. Hope this helps!)

I agree, people who barely reached Red Ranks before are now mixed with players who were Rank 1 after a week at max.
But for Killers it is the same - had a lot of DCs today and yesterday, mostly of Green Rank Killers (I am Rank 3 currently). While this is the acceptable range, it is still too big. AND those Killers who are now Green Rank would normally have been reset a lot more. If someone who barely reached purple with Rank 8 is now playing, he is at 9 and will face Red Ranks. While before, a Killer who was Rank 8 close before Reset will end up at around 15.
So they have harder games and are more frustrated now.

Plague is not a good killer and should be reworked because if someone cleanse then is gg. The new rank system is horrible I agree. Ranks have lost any meaning, it was TOO EASY to get 1st rank and now they made it more easier. Good job devs.

Yes, but now it's even more on red ranks. At the same time ranking up as killer is much more difficult. What does that mean? Actual skilled and real red ranks killers verse "fake" red rank survivors who actually belong into green or yellow ranks

There is. Cleansing makes Plague 10 times stronger. Anyone who cleanses immediately without any need is an absolute potatoe and anti-teammate.

As a Legion main, I see it as an absolute win c: (but seriously, imo, I find it better to cleanse instead of running around one hit, plus I've lost all faith in ps4 survivors tbh)

Btw, the problem here is not the rank reset but how the ranking system works.
escape should always reward with safe pip at least. Anyway the ranking system is just broken. In fact I made a lot of points just playing like a scumbag, full immersed not helping others almost no chases, than when Im actually being an efficient teammate.

Well if it's not potato survivors, it's inexperienced killers in those ranks who don't know anything beyond tunnel and camp. Usually both in the same game.

Why does everyone blame the devs when its the communities fault for being so whiney that they equate to a two year old. The devs are screwed no matter what. They change things everyone is mad they don't change things and everyone is mad. It's a lose lose senario.

@DwightOP I understand that there are good and bad changes but to most of the community that doesn't matter they still complain. I'm not saying the game is perfect but you have to agree that this community complains about way too much that it's hard to have discussion about what actually needs to be changed. Just think about how many threads devolve into killer vs survivor complaining about BT,DC, camping, tunneling, ECT.
