What about this scenario?
its not that common but it has happened before. And WILL start happening due to the DC penalty. “People will just throw themselves on the killer and die first hook.”
your friend just got on the game and is telling you to join him fast. But you’re loading into your own game now, and you really want to play with your friend. You throw yourself at the killer and he realizes what you’re doing so instead of hooking you he just leaves you there and keeps killing you if a teammate picks you up and keeps doing it until you bleed out.
im now FORCED to sit their or either play the whole game through.
i understand it’s just easier to play the whole game so don’t bother saying it to me. But I’m just showing what you Devs have to think about when you’re thinking about DC penalties.
theres going to be way more toxic killers that just slug you instantly and go for the 4k slug just to piss you off because you have to sit there until you bleed out. Also don’t say “there’s perks for that” because we are talking about the BIG PICTURE.

I say this with total honesty: if anyone I know and I were on either end of the situation you described, our response would be “ah, ok, let me know when you’re out of that game, I don’t mind waiting a few minutes.” OR “ah, ok, killer queues are short so I’ll play a killer game, message each other when we’re done?” There’s no reason at all to ruin 4 other people’s experience for a match just to appease 2 people.

Here's what you do in that scenario:
Say to your friend "Sorry mate, just got into a game, give me ten minutes and I'll join you."
Your friend says, "Oh okay, sure thing, I'll just watch YouTube/play my own game/do whatever for a few minutes while I wait."
You finish your game, you hop into one with your friend, the two of you have a great time, problem solved. And no one else's game got ruined because of it.

If you load into a game, play it. The dc penalty is there to prevent people like you from taking matches not serious.

Your FRIEND can't wait for you to play a game as you should...?
BTW, I believe people who screw their teammates over and try to die on 1st hook deserve more the ban than the DCers...

I’m guessing you’re both still just kids. That’s fine. There’s adults out here that have jobs and families to take care off and don’t have much time to play so would rather just leave and hang with their buddies while they can.
love how both of you ignored the slugging part lmfao

only dbd players will make dbd a dead game^^

Full time job, married, out of school for long enough it doesn’t feel weird at all anymore. You’re welcome to dismiss the argument if you don’t like it, but in the end I prefer to not be selfish and screw over people who don’t deserve a teammate suiciding or DCing.

Ahm, I'm not in that argument, but I can help @LordRegal and @Fibijean by saying I'm an adult with 3 kids and a wife, full time job and I play only after they're all sleep. My FRIIENDS can wait for me to finish a game without any problem at all and I think dying on 1st hook is just BS to othe PEOPLE who are trying to enjoy a game as much as I do...
And about the slugging... It's a strategy... If you didn't try to die on 1st hook and be a bad person towards your random teammates and the killer's hooking BP maybe you wouldn't have been slugged don't you think? If I had seen you trying to die on 1st hook I, as a survivor would've let you die slugged and even healed you up 1 sec before you died just for you to stay on the game a bit longger...

I would rather not either but my point is that this game is a casual game. Not something Everybody takes serious. Stuff happens. People have lives. To penalty first and second time offenders is ridiculous. (Not even talking about the DC bugs that cause you to get a penalty, which is even more ridiculous) they need to be a little bit more loose with the penalties is what I’m saying.
but once I start going around slugging everybody every game watching them bleed out I’m sure more people will realize

That’s fine. I also can do that. But some people can’t and don’t have time to. Just because some people can doesn’t mean some people can’t. I love this game and play it all the time, but watching the Devs slowly kill it just pains me

Someones aggressive and lashing out. But yeah ill say what the others have you tell your friend you got into a game and will be a little bit dont hurt your fellow survivors just because you dont want to be in the match. Other people do it im sure you can to.

Except that’s not the point you were arguing though? You were saying you’re not happy that if you go find the killer immediately and let them down you they might slug you to not let you suicide and go to another game. That’s a totally different scenario than slugging everyone just because.
Also the intended first penalty is 1 minute. Anything else is a bug and unintended for first time offenders. It an emergency happens you won’t be queuing up within a minute anyway.

I ignored the slugging part because it wasn't relevant to the point I was trying to make, but if you really want it addressed: if you throw yourself at the killer because you want to die and the killer recognises that and slugs you instead, far from being toxic, that makes them a decent person who apparently cares more about your teammates' gameplay experience than you do. You deserve to be punished for unsportsmanlike behaviour like that.
Also, if all they do is slug you until you bleed out, that means you'll be out of the game and playing with your friend in less than five minutes. If you have time to play the game at all, you can wait five minutes to play with your friend.

Except that is my point. I said it in my last paragraph in my original post.
and I understand that, but how long do these penalties last stacking together? If I DC from a game and get the 1 min, then DC from a game 2 hours later will I get the 5 min?

No no I meant the last paragraph. Some killers now will just slug everybody to be toxic because they know they can’t DC.

Sorry, I assumed the final paragraph was part of the scenario. Still, I don't think that's likely to be as prevalent as you're assuming, because killers like to have fun too, even toxic killers, and that is just as boring and unrewarding for them as it is for the survivors.

Yeah i guess we will have to see. Thanks for your input
