I was just wondering what the community thinks about survivors 99% gates ? are you for it? against it ? is it cheap? a valid tactic ??

Its a valid tactic of course, there are instances where it works and it doesn't for both sides.

I mean bloodwarden is a thing so there is no reason they shouldnt be able to try and stop it proccing, a killer can slug and open the door themselves to activate it also.

I don't mind it, any more than I mind Meyers 99% stalking.

Sometimes it's a good idea to 99% the gates, other times it'ts not. The killer can have Bloodwarden, so not opening the gates right away may prevent it. On the other hand, I have died a few times while being chased by the killer, going to a gate, only to realise it's 99%, with no one around and I don't have time to open it and also get away after that. So, at least if someone was near the gate and saw me running from the killer, they could open the gate and maybe take a hit to help (if the killer does not have NOED active).

if it bothers you, just open them yourself.

ive done that a couple of times before and it always threw them off xD

ive gotten some EGC kills with that aswell, cause there suddenly is a lot of pressure on the survivors.

Don’t think it’s even something to have a discussion about. It’s a tactic and it’s useful.

once again I was just curious what the community thought, I know some killers find it cheap because it allows survivors to come and Dsave their friends(not saying I find it cheal)

There are pros and cons to 99% a gate.

    Pros:

It prevents Blood Warden from activating.

It Prevents a slug in the middle of the map, where the killer just doesn't allow anyone to pick them up, and they don't have enough time to crawl out. The killer wants to prevent borrowed time/D-strike. (I've actually done this to a swf group who stupidly broke all the hooks in the area.)

Gives survivors more time to rescue safely.

    Cons:

Survivor may be in a chase, and doesn't have time to open the gate and escape.

They also might have just enough time to open it and escape, but can't see the progress on the door, so they don't run to it all together and go down.

I personally just 100% the door unless there is a survivor on the hook, then it's a 99% for me.

    If I, as a survivor, see a gate 99'd, I open it.

While I've only ever come across 1 Blood Warden in over a year of playing, it's still always an eternal risk. That being said, it's also about having less pressure as a survivor. We don't have to worry about how much longer we have to stay if there isn't a timer.

I am tired of survivors 99ing the gates. I’ve had so many instances where I could’ve escaped but because of that I lost. Every second is precious. I’m trying to get the touch stuff challenge so this is annoying me more than usual. I don’t even see Warden that often so it’s not an issue, but I’ve seen many people die cause of this.
