Do Dwight’s Sock Cosmetics Actually Sound Like He’s Running in Socks?
So I don’t own any of Dwight’s cosmetics where he’s wearing socks, but after seeing the elf pants come out and them having new sounds for them; I was wondering if they changed the sounds on his sock cosmetics as well.

They did not no, it's still the same.
If they did, than it would be on some sort of patch notes in the near future, but I can tell you that it's still the same.

I went the extra mile for you and made a video to put your suspicions to rest... if you had any doubts.
It was just to be 100% sure, so I went back to check and no... it's just as I thought. I checked again to just make sure I wasn't hearing things or mis-heard stuff, but no it's still the same unchanged socks... that sound like shoes.

I use the camo pants sometimes with socks. I've never noticed footsteps with them but I've also never really listened for them. The killer can probably still hear your footsteps.

Well if you end up using them again could you tell me if they sound different? I don’t think they did change the sounds, but I think it’d be a really nice attention to detail if they did.

Well just because they didn’t have patch notes for it doesn’t mean they didn’t change it; however if you say they don’t sound different, I believe you.

I can get like, a video if you want.
But I don't think anyone is on to help me with that, so idk.

No you don’t have to, I believe that you’re not lying about the socks sounding like normal running instead of padded elf shoes.

It would be a cool attention to detail yeah, but no, it wasn't changed i'm afraid.
I also said "They might release it in a future patch notes" because some minor things like that DO get posted in the patch notes... despite nobody asking for it, or really noticing the change.

I don't think they would be likely to make this change. Sound design is a huge part of balance in DBD, and a significant resource for most killers in tracking survivors. so making certain survivor cosmetics produce less sound would bring up some complicated pay-to-win implications.

Come to think of it, comparing the two they sound different... but the elf pants barely sound any different from regular shoes, at least in my opinion.
But no, they're not the same.

Its been a while since I heard footstops in Dbd, so I can't really comment on this ...

They sound like when your character walks/runs on carpeted surfaces, which is significantly quieter than normal footsteps. Granted they also have the slight jingling of bells, but that's also pretty quiet.

Thank you for doing that, but man, that sucks that they didn't change it even slightly ;(

Yes, a missed opportunity I'd suppose.
