What's the point of having a report option on the game if nothing is going to be done about it?
Ex... Rage quitting, working with the killer, taking game hostage, afk,etc.

In game reports do help, I’m pretty sure. At the very least it raises a flag. If you follow that up with a forum report with video evidence, it doubles down on the report.
Things like hostile and inappropriate chat messages are viewable just through an ingame report as well so that does work even without a follow up.

I actually did do a video evidence one and was told "Whilst we appreciate your support for the game and your desire to make the game a more enjoyable experience, we must make you aware that disconnecting does not need to be reported. We use our backend analytics to flag and ban players who are constantly disconnecting/leaving the game" so I'm not really sure if you need to send video evidence of then disconnecting through a ticket or not. Regardless I feel if someone sends video evidence that should be enough to put a ban on them. Even if it's just temporary.

As said above, they do help and can be followed up on through a support ticket with any video of screenshot evidence provided.
You need to place an in-game report to follow it up with a ticket submission to the support team, so keep that in-mind.

Reports do help, they're received and looked into when submitted by a player. If you feel that this requires more help, than you can submit a ticket above with the proper evidence.
Of course this has already been said, but it's just a clarification.

If your filing an actual report through the site, be prepared to provide video (not just screenshot or wording) as proof. I've had several reports citing various listed bannable offenses where they responded requesting video proof, and not being able to provide video instantly closed the report; fully null and void. Just keep it in mind.

It depends on the offense, DCing is already catalogs by BHVRs DCing system AND their new DC penalty system.
So for things like that it isn't really necessary to follow up with a support ticket. While other reports like game breaking bugs being abused, exploiting, and cheating would help a lot with an in-game report and follow up with the support team.

It's still cataloged in the old one.
DCing once with a video will not punish the offender... if they DC in massive quantities than BHVRs old system would've caught him and punished him accordingly.
This is why the support team told you that, because it's already handled by the old system (aka cataloged) and if they continued to do so in many matches than they would be punished. Recording them DCing once won't ban them or temp ban them, that's not how it works.

DCing is the only bannable offence that you don't need to report people for, which is why you got that response. Video evidence is useful in reporting anything else that's bannable that people do in-game, such as hacking, working with the killer, targeting, holding games hostage, using exploits, bots or lag switching.

Thanks for the insight. I've only been playing a couple of months. I don't know how to do video recording. Do you have to start recording at the beginning of matches? I play on a console.

I really dislike that though. But in the end it's their choice how they want to do it.

If you're concerned about that, I'd probably start recording during matches. But if I recall correctly don't the new consoles have where you can just record games after they're over? Or something like that. I play on PC but I feel the need to start recording games cause I've definitely seen some questionable things.

You only get banned if you hack legacy, that's it.
Any other stuff only leads to either a temporary ban (like 1 day) or nothing, since lagswitching is almost everytime justified as bad internet.

You just record when the offense takes place, you don't really need the entire uncut match as proof.

Reports like these don't need to be followed up, mainly because the DCing system takes care of it.

I just can't stand when people DC. I want to have a fun game of back and forth...not people just DC'ing right off the bat or later in the game. Accidental ones like your computer crashing or w/e is one thing

Well that's what the new penalty system is for, it'll cut down on DCing quite a bit.

The point of reporting is to feel good about yourself for pointing out the bad people.
Also that people break the rules at all times so if you don't report it then there is no chance of justice being dishes out.

I get what you're saying. I'm not trying to feel better about myself I just want to be able to play a good match. Today all I've got is people suiciding n the first hook. At the very beginning. Leaving 2 to do 5 gens.
