Was DBD ever in Early Access (Steam)

I had a killer arguing in the tally screen cause he claimed to play the game since Early Access. The full release of the game was in 2019 (his words).

I bought DBD on 14th June 2016, which was already fully released at that point if i remember right. I guess there was Alpha and Beta before but no EA on Steam.

Can some DBD veteran give me some input on this?

    People argue that the closed beta and or alpha tests for DBD was the "Early Access" version. This is probably what he's referring to in the argument.

    I suppose you could say the closed beta tests were "Early Access" but was there really a wide spread Early Access version? No, after the closed beta and alpha versions, the game was fully released soon after on June 14th, 2016.
