Killers should not be add-on dependent, survivors certainly are not
So many killers are add-on dependent. Wraith is probably the best example. If he has the right add-ons, some would argue he is top tier. No add-ons, low tier. Every killer should be able to stand on their own without any add-ons. Some can, like Billy and Huntress. Most cannot, with Nurse being added to that pile. With survivors, keys, toolboxes, and med-kits give you a bonus, but you can do quite well without any of them. That is exactly what killer add-ons should be, a bonus or interesting effect.

Billy without addons? Nah. I agree on huntress tho. Her addons are mostly QoL for good huntress players.

If you are right, the problem is even worse. Too many killers are dependent on good add-ons to be competitive.

Survivor items are way less powerful than killer addons, but the survivor skillcap is way higher thn most killers. I think that's why survivors are way less item reliant. It's a problem, but no priority imo.

Agreed. Addons should give the killer an edge, not be necessary just to be viable/enjoyable to play. Neither should they be ridiculously strong. Only killers that don't need addons are Billy, Freddy, and spirit. Everybody else needs addons to patch up the issues with their kits.

Most killers are more viable than people give them credit for with no add ons. There are only a few killers I would say are absolutely dependent on add ons. The Doctor is the poster boy for this. With out any add ons he's almost unplayable. Base shock range is like 5 meters. Even if you do shock it doesn't really do much without add ons.
But regardless, your fundamental argument is flawed. Killers are not survivors. There is no comparison here. By your argument killers shouldn't have powers because survivors don't. Which is just nonsensical. Also, it isn't like killer add ons are some super rare thing that are inaccessible. You earn bloodpoints so you can spend them. Outside of a players first couple of games this is a non-issue.

Some Killers have only few addons that are worth using. Like GF's nightshroud recovery and Pig's Aura reading. The other ones are mediocre at best and so, the good ones are gone fast and you have to play with bad ones or without em. It should be able, to trade other addons in for the ones you want.

Billy isn't add-on dependent, anyone who plays Billy a lot can do very good without any add-ons. Good example of this is Fungoose, if you don't know who he is you should check him out he's really good with Killer and Survivor, he has an insane Billy and Plague

Well, all the killer that I can think of are addon reliant are the very bad ones, but again they should have their powers buffed

Aside from that, I agree that killers should be able to stand toe-to-toe against survivors, independent from add-ons.

Killers should be add on dependent because if all killers were buff in there base kit, then think about how strong they would he with add ons. Not only that, but how does it make sense to say killers shouldn't rely on add ons, even though the add ons is a part of the killer. It's like a surivior saying a surivior shouldn't rely on a tool box to complete gens faster.
You saying a surivior can do well without items, can be said the same about killers because killer mains have already proved they can win games without add ons or perks. If all killers are strong enough to beat a rank 1 surivior team in there base kit without any add ons, then how would this be fair for new players? How could a surivior team be able to beat a killer when they are using add ons?
If add ons shouldn't be dependent, then why are Add ons there in the first place? Why do they give buff to killers? I don't get your point.

wraith top tier with add ons, ok now stop smoking and dont take what certain streamers tells as given, imo wraith is midtier with good playstyle (im half wraith main)(with bad playstyle you will suffer) but top tier because of add ons? how silent bell or windstorm can compete with 1shot hatchets, insta saw, wakizashi + sth else, mintrag hag, perma T3 myers xd
if you want add on dependant killers: doc, trapper: because base range for doc is bad, and trapper with 1 trap is painful

but you know even if they would buff basekit of any killer they should nerf every add on so their powerlvl with add ons will stay around the same to not increase kill rate even more?

My post was a sarcastic jab at op. Basically his end goal is to get addons as base so we can get new addons so they can be stronger. Because imagine prayer beads, before nerf, as base. Or insta chainsaw Billy?

No it's not and I agree.
What people don't get is because they're bad at something doesn't mean everyone else is. Back when I played Blazblue I played Bang. He was bottom low tier. Negative on all frames and just a mess. I still won matches and even beat the number 1 bb player in the south west of the US, he and I were friends, once. Then CS came out and bang became top tier. Everyone tried to play him but sucked. While I'd goof off and win. In Counter Strike 1.6 I used to exclusively use the five seven and a p90 for ct and idf for T. If you are good you can be good with anything in the game.
Here I'm bad but I still don't use items because I'm trying to learn so I get better at killer. Practice. Realise you'll lose 101010030394040304049 matches then you'll be a God.
