When is this going to be looked at?

I downed 3 survivors 9 times, none of them were dead due to the bleed-out timer and I hooked all of them as soon as I downed them with Oni. I didn't camp hooks and usually triggered Oni's ability after a hook to apply pressure across the map. It's the same issue with any killer whose ability is a potential instant down - you lose chaser points towards the chaser emblem.

I'd argue that to get a great score at the emblem system, you have to have a great early game as a killer. However, that's not how most matches go against competent survivors, since most killers on the roster need to build up their ability/build up pressure on the survivors. I think people run Ruin primarily because the game punishes you severely while you're at your weakest point as a killer, not because generators pop too fast. The main issue with the Gatekeeper emblem is that it doesn't take into account any snowballing pressure the killer can pull on survivors in the late mid to end game, while killers are at their strongest. 4K everyone but they managed to pop a bunch of gens? Too bad, because you missed out on Gatekeeper points.

Take these two emblems and combine them. You have to be chasing survivors consistently and 2-hitting them in order to get good Chaser points. However, if you use your ability to speed up the chase and apply pressure to work towards a higher Gatekeeper emblem, you lose chaser points. And if you decide to not use your ability (Just M1 the match), gens will pop because you aren't applying pressure and your Gatekeeper emblem will suffer.

Instead of coming up with a emblem system for each individual killer, base pipping ability on BPS earned during the match (with a penalty for hook-camping, of course). Usually games where you score a high BP count means that you did a fairly decent job at your role, no? It would be much easier and time effective than trying to balance an emblem system around each individual killer's play style, since BPS are awarded for special actions when killers use their ability.

    It used to be determind by blood points but they removed it cause people were farming to get to the high ranks

    I do agree that the emblems need another look, some things just don't make sense

    They force killer to pressure in order to rank up, but then don't give them the time or tools to do so. I gave up caring about the rankings since matchmaking is broken anyway.


    Starcraft has the best ranking system in a game. You play 5 games to get an initial ranking, if you start winning most of your matches in your current rank, they pit you against players the next rank up. Win those and go up in rank, lose those and stay where you are. They don't base it on stupid stuff like in game kills or resources mined, they base it on whether or not you're winning a lot in your current player pool.

    I think that's a good point. Ranking should be based purely on fulfilling the win condition. The more extraneous requirements you add, the more players get railroaded into a specific playstyle, which in my opinion isn't something that should be encouraged.

    Most of us realize how lacking the Emblem system is for rating a player's performance. We need another system.

    A working system could be a mix between rating bloodpoints AND kills. (If you as killer totally dominate the survivors, you won't have a lot of bp, so it's also important to take kills into consideration, for example.)

    Agreed. I've been trying to 2-pip with all killers since I've got the game, for the adept trophies.

    It's litterally impossible while using instadown powers, so you have to M1 with Billy, Myers, Plague... makes no sense.

    The Emblem System needs two changes for Killers in my opinion:

    Chaser Emblem when it comes to Instadowns and Killers using their Power. Like, I chainsaw a lot with Hillbilly, because it is way more fun. Even when the Survivor is injured, I like to go for Chainsaws. But I get punished in the Emblem System - why does a Killer have an ability to instadown people when you apparently should not use it? Same with Plagues Vomit. This is something that needs to be looked at.

    And Gatekeeper, I think when the Killer manages to kill all Survivors before 5 Gens are done, he should get an Iridescent in Gatekeeper, no matter what else happened. If all Gens are done, the normal calculation takes place. Because I think, when a Killer manages to prevent all Gens from being completed, he denied the Survivors Objective in the best way possible and so he should get the highest Emblem. It would also help a little bit with how strange this Emblem is, because the control of it is limited (I play without Ruin, so it might happen that one or two Gens are already done before I have my first Hook, but I often enough win with one or two Gens left). This would also help Killers who play more strategic - why should the Killer who goes for a 3-Gen early on be punished for thinking ahead?

    (There are also flaws in the Survivor Emblem System, e.g. getting a penalty for hooked Survivors in the Benevolence Category, but this is not really relevant, because it can be filled up again quite easily. Or the Unbroken Emblem, which rates Bronze, because a game ended fast, when you are in fact the one that died right at the end of the game, because all others escaped at this point. But that is hardly fixable, because it would need to calculate the Emblem when the whole Trial is finished, which is not possible)


    But they wanted to change something on the Ranking System, when it is an own Ranking for every Killer (what I assume), then they should also be able to change the Chaser Emblem according to the Killers Power.

    I was trying to depip on my alt to get back to rank 5 before I put it on the shelf until rank reset. I decided to pick Legion with BBQ 2, Distressing, Beast Of Prey and Mad Grit for memes. I played normal at first and hooked 3 of them, then spent the rest of the game just hitting them with Frenzy occasionally picking one up to carry around for fun. Let them all go.

    Ended the game with iri Chaser and iri Malicious LOL. And it wasn't even just barely, I got iri plus another silver in terms of the points I earned. Got Gold Gatekeeper too because they took their sweet time doing gens, guess I meme'd too hard. So I got a safety pip.

    So the fact I can basically not try and get better Malicious/Chaser with a killer that is designed to get more hits kinda suggests that maybe they need to take a look at emblems. It does suck that any killer with a one shot is punished.

    "pips are not the win condition" or so i have been told (by a dev in this forum) , you won that match and it is your fault that you got a safety pip and not magically ending chases within 10 seconds.

    This needs looked at honestly Got done with adept Freddy and stuff and I honestly don't like the condition for Adept killers, To adept survivor all you have to do is escape, compared to killers having to double pip it's insane. Especially when emblems need looked at, it's dumb that Meyers and Billy are stuck in a position like they are.
