Gentapping, searching ruin whole match, "ruin OP"

The reason why survivors gentap and say "ruin OP" is low FPS and low monitor refresh rate combined with mouse/keyboard having high latency.

I speak from my own experience: When I had 40-60 fps on average with maximum 60hz refreshrate and a standard 10 bucks mouse, I was missing them greats a looot.

I cranked down my resolution and window size to achieve 80+ fps, overclocked my monitor to 85hz, got a new gaming mouse from logitech... And Now it's piss easy to hit them. Even 3 o'clock skillchecks are easy.

I think many who gen tap or run around the entire map to find ruin have difficulties to hit them ruin skillchecks because of one, two or all of the three aspects I mentioned above.

I don't know why you mentioned mouse but that's pretty cool.

Not saying you're wrong, as this likely is a factor for many, but just for the record, I have two computers, a gaming desktop and a laptop that runs DBD at about 10 fps on the low graphics at 0% resolution. I have never considered Ruin to be OP, even when playing on the laptop. Even if you can't hit great skill checks, you can still hit good ones and power through. Usually, you will still make progress unless you get really unlucky. Or you can just find the totem, which is what I usually do.

I miss the day Legion got released (cursed thing to say) they made the skillchecks so smooth. Now even on my gaming PC the skillchecks are framey as heck, makes great skillchecks hard to hit. But in general my game framerate performance has just gone worse

Even though mouses, monitors, and computers might have a factor with skill checks, people simply gen tap and try to find ruin because they can’t do great skill checks frequently. Simple as that.

How can you know that? Did you ask every gentapper if he has 80+ fps etc and is just simply bad? I'm just talking from my experience and to what conclusion I have come to why people do that. And it's very logical if you think about that. It's not even super difficult to hit them greats with enough fps and hz

Gen tapping(the real one and not 1ms taps), hitting skillchecks, finding the totem.

This perk has so many counters it is funny that people still find it OP.

Not everyone can afford to a super gaming PC sadly.

In console the skillcheck bar jumps which make it impossible to hit greats

    If all survivors would:

    1) Work thru Ruin

    2) Not blow that first Ruin skill check

    survival rates would double.

Even when you miss some or all the ruin skill checks, ruin will only slow down the generator completion maybe 20%. Compare that to the minutes spent by multiple survivors searching for it and not getting gens done. If I had to pick the single thing that would make the largest positive difference for survivors, it would be this.

However because they never do I run small game a lot to find it faster so they'll get back on gens.

Me neither, for me in order to get over 60 fps I had to make my desktop smaller, play with 0% resolution, overclock my gpu and do engine tweaks. My game looks like pure garbage, but at least I can maintain 60 fps now. Not that enjoyable tho.

And I have not enough money easy to purchase a new rig

That's true, it always hurt my soul when I run the killer for 3 minutes straight and not a single gen popped... Just to get downed and see my mates running around the map searching ruin
