Wow, Okay, So The Killer Adept Achievements...
It's important to do research.
I care very little about my achievements, and for no particular reason, i wanted to investigate why people dislike these achievements so much more now.
So obviously most of you know this, but just in case there's more people like me...
The achievements for Adept Killers are still the same: Get the "Merciless" message from the Entity on the scoreboard.
But the Emblem system now decides what message you get, and Merciless is the equivalent of a double-pip.
So ya' gotta play at least very well in every category to get it.
Now personally, i actually wouldn't mind such a challenge.
But this requirement is not what it was based on, and it doesn't seem to be intended as Adept Survivor achievements didn't change at all nor did the future ones get a similar condition.
I figure nothing's changed because i remember them once stating it's hard or impossible to change trophies on PlayStation?
Don't quote me on that.
Doesn't change what i think though: I think it's fair for anyone to think these achievements are unfair.
I don't think they're too hard, i think their requirement is outdated.

The only achievemnt that is too hard is, imo, not an Adept.
Evil Incarnate, Kill All 4 Survivors Using a Tombstone.

I feel like getting a 4 man key escape is near impossible in solo

The main issue, which I may have overseen or falls with the outdated side, is that if you kill the survivors too fast you won’t get it

Yes, cause you'll miss on stuff like hooking them more often & hitting them more.

I don't know if achievements are impossible to change on PS4, but I know that there was an achievement for Legion which was almost impossible to get with the first iteration of Legion, and became really impossible with the new ones - now it has changed, so there's that..
(the achievement was to down 25 survivors while in feral frenzy with killer instinct active, now it is simply to down 25 survivors which has DW active on them)

Well if it did change, then it can't be PlayStation.
But i swear there was something like that...

The requirement not only is outdated, but bugged. I got a perfect game as freddy, literally perfect. 4k, 32k bps, used all my perks to the most of their terible potentials, even got 2 kills with Blood Warden. The game punished me for gens popping in the first 9 minutes. Literally no slowdown perks and I need gens not to pop in 9 minutes when they take 80 seconds.

I cant remember if it was PS or xBox, but one of their rules for achievements is that game devs cannot change achievement requirements unless they cant be completed anymore. Legion's case happened because it went from possible to impossible. Adepts, Left for Dead, Skilled Huntress, etc, are possible, but absurdly difficult, so they cant change those.
Almo talked about this recently.

It was difficult until I got better at the game. Now it's just a thing I di when I'm bored.
Survivor adept is wayyyy too easy. I got one accidentally lol

Adept Plague was pretty great since the emblem system was not built for her.

Left for dead achievement anyone?...borderline impossible.

PWYF, NOED, BloodWarden, M&A (Optional) or Ruin.
NOED gives a speed boost when all 5 gens are done, PWYF can gain 3 speed boost tokens when breaking chases with the obsession. This works well with this achievement since you're not actually attacking anyone until you're in Tier lll to mori them.
Blood-Warden for a last resort mori on the last 2 Survivors, and Ruin because it's ruin... if left alone it'll keep generator progress from happening... unless the Survivors can hit Great Skill checks constantly.
Also, use "The Game" or Lery's offering, both maps are amazing for Myers stealth and can make for easy stalks around corners. You can also try Hawkins, but the best map for this is "The Game."

Had a pretty in-depth discussion about it with Almo; https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/109601/even-out-difficulty-of-survivor-and-killer-adepts#latest
Basically the achievements were originally "merciless" which at the time meant a 4k. Survivor was always just an escape, and as they don't have specific terms for their pips this has never been a problem.
When the definition of merciless changed with the emblem system, the achievement text was incorrect for a very long time as the trigger remained a 4k.
In order to correct the achievements, the trigger was changed to a double pip. This is due to an extreme difficulty to change achievements on consoles. Basically, regardless of the original intent of the achievements, if it is still possible, regardless of how difficult or implausible, they won't change the achievements. Therefore, they changed the trigger to match the text, rather than the text to match the trigger.
This unfortunately also had the consequence of making the difficulty scale with rank, as you not only face stronger opponents, but also require higher scoring emblems for the same result. It also changed the meaning of the achievements from "have a very good performance" to "find survivors who are so bad that they won't do 3 gens when no stalling perk is present, or else you fail within the first two minutes." It also devalues many of the achievements, as certain killers are forced to play WITHOUT their power as one hit downs and such cause penalties to emblems, meaning performing 'adeptly' as that killer involves ignoring anything that makes that killer useful, strong, or unique.
So while they have expressed the desire that they would like to have the achievements be more reasonable and balanced between the two sides, dealing with consoles is making that impossible. For the sake of consistency, they will continue to release the achievements in this horrible state, and will not 'fix' PC's if consoles cannot be fixed too. (You know, despite the many, MANY inconsistencies between achievements already, such as console requiring anywhere as low as 1/10th of scoring events to many PC achievements, and 4 times as many long range hatchets)
A very simple solution is still possible, if they choose to rename what a double pip is from "merciless" to something else, and use merciless as a separate field in the post game (such as renaming the "No One Escaped" scoring event to "Merciless Victory") which would both allow achievements to refer to a 4k again, and make more sense in that currently a killer who grants mercy to a survivor with the hatch can still be classed as merciless.
Hopefully, they take an opportunity soon to perform a pass on killer emblems to address the many issues that exist, such as one shot killers being penalised for using their power, or Plague getting no points anywhere, and this could be a potential change alongside that.
Considering killer emblems were promised to be looked at very shortly after survivor pip conditions were made easier than killer (April this year) we are long overdue for that pass already.

That isn't bugged, it just isn't favourable.
Freddy's perks are not designed as a build to work well with the emblem system. In order to max out your Gatekeeper emblem, you need to ensure that you keep survivors from doing more than 1-2 gens in the first couple of minutes, AND you ideally want to finish with 1-2 gens incomplete, as remaining gens is a huge factor in the score.
Using perks which only come into play after all the gens are done, even properly, is a guaranteed way to lose out on the gatekeeper score.

Just got that one yesterday...while playing solo, lol.

I think pretty much everyone agrees that the killer adepts should require a 4K, not a Merciless Victory as defined by the emblem system. You were right that they've said trophies are pretty much impossible to change, but they can work around that by changing how the game defines a Merciless Victory. It might happen in the future, it's just not top priority at the moment.
Here are the most recent comments that I've seen by a developer on the topic:

I'm guessing Sony or whoever is thinking that, if they allow such trophy changes, they'll get swarmed with approval requests.

These achievements are just really, really, unfun to try to get
They should update them to make them less frustrating and more rewarding to achieve. Seriously the adapt Michael Myers achievement
Why BHVR, WHY?!

3k hours here. 1.5k hours solo Q survivor. Checked my statistics, I did 3 (THREE) 4 men hatch escapes in 1.5k hours. Good luck to everyone doing this lol

The killer adept achievements should be a 4k and nothing else. It's kind of insane how it expects you to double pip as some of the killers with their perks. For killers like wraith and Huntress it's essentially telling you to play perfectly using no perks

I got all of them in a derank trial some time ago. The oni was the first adept i got at red ranks.

It was changed. I remember getting it right after it had changed.

But if I am an adept Freddy, shouldn't I be able to use his perks?
0 -
Hah, i only got that once at the very beginning of the game's life, farmed it with a bunch of friends on an empty Steam region.

Same actually

That one used to be waaaay easier. Now it's more difficult

Yeah I've only gotten that one in swf

I agree, that trophy was before the end game collapse and now there's no way to power the last generator if everyone else is dead.

I love achievements, and always eagerly look forward to seeing what the news ones are in each update. I have 100% achievements, and always get back to that after each DLC.
Adepts for killers are unnecessarily difficult. I always make sure to grab it on day 1, while survivors still don't know how to deal with the new killer. I got it on my second game with Oni.
The hardest achievement in the game is Skilled Huntress, IMO. It's hard to get one point for it, much less 20

Just change the " " Killer to be based on kills instead of pips? Cant be that difficult of a change and it's not like anyone cares about each pip having their own special name lmao. Especially when it makes no sense that you can get a merciless killer without killing anyone.
