First Post: Iridescent head and another Ultra rare Huntress add-on
Hello all,
So I'm both a Killer and Survivor player but when I play killer, I tend to play Huntress. There's been lots of discussion about changes to Huntress Ultra Rare's and I have to agree that it can be super oppressive to play against Iridescent head as it is.
So. Here are two ideas for new pink add-on's for Huntress:
--------------------------------------------------
First: New Iridescent Head
-Survivors hit with a hatchet are afflicted with the broken status for 3 mins (time has been changing and prolly will again lol)
-Huntress now has only 3 hatchets
-------------------------------------------------
Current Iridescent head leaves survivors in the 'broken' status already because people are just being juggled around hooks till everyone dies. By changing it over to just the broken status, it gives people a warning that the Huntress has Iridescent head in play, a major problem with current Iridescent for survivors. The Huntress keeps insta-down potential because if a survivor gets away from her, the next time she finds them they will likely still be 'one shot' -able due to not being healed yet, the 3 mins is due to the need for a long enough cool-down for it to be meaningful but not too long to be unhealable, if it ends up too strong the time can change, but I think it would have to be a couple mins, to make it worth it. Lowing hatchet amount to 3 keeps the beginning of the game easier for huntress while still constricted slightly, and allows her to keep pressure throughout the game, amount can also be tweaked depending on strength. Finally, Huntress will be able to more embody her role as a hunter because everybody will be bleeding and she will be stalking her injured prey across the map. We also get to keep the lovely name: Iridescent head.
-----------------------------------------------
Second: Redwood Haft
-Huntress is no longer slowed while winding up a hatchet
-When the Huntress has fully wound up a hatchet all blood trails are much more visible
-----------------------------------------------
So this is a more 'Thematic' perk. Firstly, Redwood is the name of both her map and it's apparently one of the lightest woods so it works thematically as a non-slowing perk which I like. Secondly, as a Huntress, she has the ability to stalk her prey incredibly well, so by highlighting blood trails she will be more easily able to do that. Thirdly, this blends well with her other Ultra rare perk I recommended because people will be bleeding across the whole map which is nice. Removing her slow gives her much greater map pressure and compensates for her being a slower killer which is a great power up as an Ultra rare. It could be too strong as a perk so it could remove a single hatchet? I just want her to be able to use both without loosing all her hatchets.
----------------------------------------------
I thought of a third after posting
Third: Crimson Head
-Survivors hit with Crimson Hatchets are afflicted with the mending status (standard mend or be downed and terror radius situation applies)
----------------------------------------------
So this idea gives a very interesting change to standard huntress style, leaning into her ranged ability. Basically she'll want to throw hatchets at a range to hit survivors and then she can leave to go find other survivors while the mending survivor wastes time. She also can harass mending survivors into moving by throwing ranged hatches towards them while she is dealing with other survivors to either down them with the hatchet or force them to move thus cancelling out their mending progress.
As always, this is just a recommendation but I think they would be really fun changes, let me know what you think!

Second iredescent pretty much makes huntress uncounterable, but I like it. Both are very good ideas.

The first one is not worth it, but the second one is good.

The first one can be changed to permanent and then it would definitely be worth it.

if I'm honest I want more add ons to cause broken legion is the only one with it
0 -
Don't take away Legion's special toy. Trapper could use it maybe but the other killers don't need it.
0 -
Yeah.
1 -
I didn't know if it would still be thought of as too strong if I made it permanent but I'm definitely down for forever broken Huntress :p

The only change Iri Head needs, imo, is for it to be locked at 1 hatchet. Infantry Belt doesn't add more. It rewards skillful play and punishes bad plays while keeping the amazing effect.
1 -
I like that idea but I like OP much more. She would keep her one hit hatchets and make her much more of a tracking killer. Sure, it might be much stronger but huntress deserves strong add ons.

Rewarding good huntress play is always great, but skilled survivors or a small miscalculation by the Huntress would render her a slow m1 killer or force her to break chase and potentially lose the survivor entirely which is a pretty big punishment in my opinion for a Ultra rare add on.
1 -
I don't think so. Skilled Huntress players rarely miss the first hatchet, its the second hatchet when DH and conservative pallet throes that cause them to miss.

Amazing he says lol..no offense but iri head is already extremely overrated
0 -
I dont like the first one.
It would have the same problem rn, instadowns.
Basically if you are injured all the match that's a 1 hit/instadown.
0 -
Well, you get punished as survivor for using Odd Bulb, an ultrarare addon that basically doesn't do nothing and just make your flashlight usseles.
0 -
Being able to completely negate chases AND being able to do it from range is very powerful. The drawback is, you have to be good at Huntress.
0 -
Yeah, I've basically been mulling between a perma broken and a really long broken time, I think I'll just change it back to like, 3 mins? broken for a gen basically.
Personally, I don't really know how the flashlight stuff works, not my item of choice. But, I would think it would be the goal to make the more rare add ons better for their expense and rare-ness then to bring the user down, just me tho.

Seems more reasonable.

Negate chases how? She is giving up any mobility with her power..its strong..but still heavily overrated
0 -
That's the goal :)
I agree that the most skilled of Huntresses don't ever miss and are oppressive on their own. But for the overwhelming majority of Huntresses this add-on would become extremely hard to benefit from because missing is very easy to do, and for more skilled huntresses such as myself, I still miss a good chunk of hatchets in general. I would prefer making add-on's that can be used by all ranks and give great benefits for all without need to assess their skill for accessibility.

He means that she can throw it from anywhere which negates the chase.
Example: huntress hook a survivor and she has BBQ, she sees the survivor and throw a hatchet.
That's how she negates a chase
0 -
If by some miracle she hits which is extremely unlikely
0 -
That's the goal :)
I agree that the most skilled of Huntresses don't miss hatchets ever but most Huntresses miss a good chunk of hatchets and average Huntresses miss a lot of hatchets thus the need for 5 hatchets in her base kit. I would prefer to give all Huntresses a good Ultra rare add-on to power up all skills rather than skill-lock her best add on to a smaller group of people who are even able to use it to useful effect.

I think I've hit a long range hatchet, like, once lol
0 -
Exactly..the scenario has to be perfect

Legion can spread the love like he spreads the mending <3
0 -
Not a fan of these ideas. I cant see these being used by any significant amount of the playerbase, besides the second for what I'd assume to be a very brief time.
0 -
Okay...care to explain why not?
0 -
first is just a delayed instadown that can be healed off after a really long wait time, the second let’s you chase survivors with a cocked hatchet at the ready for when they mess up and gives a little bonus to tracking, the third is more gimmicky then the rest and was more of a fun change idea than anything else
0 -
Get rid of the third right now please.

Momma's Hunting Bag
Huntress carries 5 more hatchets and cannot use her basic attack. Movment speed is buffed to 115, but movment speed while winding up a hatchet is reduced. Time between throws is greatly reduced; after throwing a hatchet with her left hand, huntress will grab another with her right hand, then switch back to left and back again until she runs out of hatchets.

Iridescent Head
Successful attacks with hatchets give survivors the Oblivious status effect for 60, and they can no longer hear lullaby for 20 seconds.

Nothing wrong with options, love
1 -
It would be a bane on my bloodweb :(
0 -
What exactly is your problem with it?
0 -
A mend timer is much worse than broken state. Besides, you want to ignore new mend rules which keep it from being abused. Just delete option 3
0 -
I think it’s an interesting way to change her play style while leaning into her hatchet throwing ways, the mending keeps her away, well out of the terror radius and shifts her strength to distance. The mending is definitely weaker then broken but gives the huntress a very strong stall instead. Not really sure what the abuse would be in this situation.
