Let's start all at rank 20 on 1.1.2020
A new start for everyone!
I think this was already needed with the new rank reset system to balance the popularity on different ranks. Atm it feels like 90% of the players are in red ranks. And I know from friends who recently picked up dbd that the Q times in grey ranks are ridiculously long, which scares away new players.

I feel like that would just bring out the unbalanced items and offerings

Ok?

I would like this except babies will get bullied on both sides which is a no-no.
1 -
Someone who wants to bully babies in grey ranks can already do that with smurf accounts :/ brand honestly, I'm pretty sure that new player rather want quick matches and get stomped by more experienced players than not being able to play at all or wait 20-30 minutes to get into one match

Oh then awesome idea

Is your friend on PC? I had to restart over on PC due to my own stupidity of forgetting the email and password to my DBD dedicated account. I noticed beginning rank killers have upwards of 20 to 40 minute waits. Survivors get a near instantaneous Lobby. Around rank 16 now and lobbies are about every 10 to 15 minutes.

Yes pc, and I can just imagine console being even worse in grey ranks since it has less players compared to pc

This is a bad idea. Most people would rather wait a bit longer then having totally unballanced matchmaking. Imagine a new Killer versing 1000+ hours Survivors all day long. He will quit the game within the first few days, if not even faster.

Well help him out too yellow honestly and help him with basics he might miss and a KYF group. Not sure which region your in or I could help you out as well if he needs it. Least I wont boost the killer rank.
I'm not a good survivor honestly. I never did it on PC even before dedicated servers. So I'm a bit of a special case when it comes to Mouse and Keyboard Survivor. Have the knowledge, but lack the skills with M&K to pull it off......guess I'm just bad.

Sounds like a fun idea for anyone over say... 600 hours. And a terrible idea for everyone else.

You people need to relax.
It was obviously a joke, just a play on words.
Chill.

I mean yellow rank killers already get matched with red rank survivor on a regular base. So it wouldn't make much different in terms of difficulty for people. But speed up queuing times for everyone. Matchmaking is beyond repair, so might as well abandon it.

I personally would rather play against experienced players than not playing at all. That experience against good players can be helpful for new players aswell.

Imagine loading in the game for the first time as a killer and going up against rank 1s

Dude suprisingly. I actully agree with this and would be ok with it im rank 2 suvior right now.

Grey rank’s always have had, and probably will have bad q times. It was bad back in 2017 when I started, and this year when I decayed back down. Resetting everone to 20 would fix that for maybe a day or two, and result in even more unbalanced games than what we have now.
The most populated ranks, in my experience are 4-12, everything else usually will have to wait a bit. Honestly, Everyone going back to 20 would just be plain bad. I don’t want to play agianst new players, it’s not fun for me at all. Smurfing can happen, but exacerbating the issue with a mass reset won’t help in the long run.

I have a better idea. With Ur system it will very quickly revert back to how it is now. The ranking system needs to be properly revamped, I'm talking much harsher de-pips (or a system better than useless pips in general). Getting to red ranks doesn't require skill. It just requires time and effort as it's so easy to avoid a de-pip. We need a system that actually places you where you belong. We need a system that rewards you for playing fairly (but not just by ranking, we don't want all the facecampers to drop to rank 20 and meet all the newbies)
1 -
What is this game you are playing that "its so easy to avoid a depip"?
Tell me exactly how you would avoid a depip spawning within ten meters of the killer, getting hooked and then nobody else on your team tries to rescue you even tho its obvious the killer is nowhere near you, as the other three just want to gen rush?

I think nobody should be able to go back to rank 20 - 19 if they ever reached 18.
Rank 20 and 19 should be a save heaven for new players.
0 -
"save heaven"
Yeah, it's save because they never come to play with that long lobby q lol
1 -
The survivor queue there is instant
0 -
that would have been fun lol, but while the queues would be instant, the matchmaking would be hellish
but would have been really fun
1 -
I don't want to curb stomp killers and survivors in 3 minute games all the way back to red ranks :/
0 -
Stuff like that does sometimes happen but not that often. You come across some unavoidable mistakes and it's again due to the ######### ranking system putting those players on a pedestal for fixing gens which they really shouldn't be on

I feel like the matchmaking is unforgiving to beginners either way, because when you start the game for the first time on the 13th of each month and might have some good rounds that gets you into the yellow ranks, you might get casual red rank survivors anyway and have a bad time. It's gotten better since when I started playing in December 2016, I remember ranking pretty fast in my first killer matches and then getting to a point in yellow-green ranks where I was constantly outplayed.
Personally I think it would be cool to have a "beginners queue" or so, where you can't level further than a certain rank range for a certain time and you only get matched with other beginners. Of course SWF would be a problem in this queue, or beginners that get into a SWF with people that succeeded the beginner queue are excluded from beginner killers.

No thank you.
