PC skillchecks are so easy.
So im a rank 1 console player and i had a chance to play dbd in a pc cafe and holy crap the skillchecks dont have any problems.
On console you need to press it earlier to have a great skillcheck, even with 80 ping i need to press the key outside the great skillcheck to get it and i thought it was the same on pc but i was wrong.
On pc you really need to press it on the white area and god it feels so satisfying to do a gen in 70 secs because youve hit every skillcheck.

Really? I don't have a delay at all on my PS4, I actually had one on my PC instead because I didn't have a proper monitor.

Im a rank 1 console player and can consistently hit about 3/5 skillchecks as a great
Ive counted my great skillchecks and total time saved on gens from them before and had upwards of a full gen before. They shouldnt even affect gens imo, makes good survivors even stronger
I have no problem with timing or input lag but im two years in so maybe its just muscle memory

"PC skillchecks are easy" - Tell that to all the red rank players who all die cause they need to destroy ruin to have a chance.

Same, the muscle memory from the console skillcheck lag made me blow up the gens in my first games on pc

I got a new tv for my ps4 before the ps4 died. While my old tv had the latency between hitting the button and the skill check stopping. My new tv had no issues and it stopped when I pressed it.
So it's not really a issue it's either a bad hdmi cord or a bad TV for gaming.

it could be on the wrong tv setting. aMost newers tvs have a "game" mode that reduces input delay

I dont use the gaming setting honestly. I use a custom one for better graphics on PS4. Either way I would definitely check it out. I could also link you the tv I got if that helps.

if you disable vsync and unlock your framerate, it's absurdly stupid. Can't remember the last time I didnt hit a great skillcheck and ruin means nothing.
I can see the dev meeting now. "Sorry, we can't give 2020 framerates in our game, as it would make us have to rework skillchecks too, Next topic?". GG EZ 1990 framerates on that note.

Yes. And they also destroy Ruin not just for that, but because it does far more than just force great skill checks to progress. It denies any progression bonus (+3%) when you do hit great skill checks, increases risk of blowing a gen trying for a great skill check, and good skill checks not only deny you any bonus points (+50) and regresses the gen, but double dips and completely stops any progress for a few seconds, potentially generating even more skill checks.

Skill checks are not hard at all even with framerate delays I mean honestly...

Skill checks aren't hard once you're used to them on console, but they skip alot of frames so you just learn it with the frames.

That's why Ruin is twice as strong on console, and why more killers use it. 😕
I feel like skill checks need to be updated anyways because there will be times where you think it should or shouldn't be a great/good/miss. The needle is very misleading.

Hey if theyre red rank. Somethings working.

I have a smart tv and it has an option called gaming mode after i turned it on i can hit great skill checks easily. Im on xbox

Red rank is the high rank isn't it?

Ruin is 10x stronger on switch LOL. The lag is so bad that when a killer brings ruin it's an automatic gg 4k

Latency from using a wireless controller plus latency from most standard televisions create a delay. Play with a wired controller on a low latency monitor and you will find skill checks easier. Still not as good as PC but much better

I play in Red Ranks on console and I can without a doubt tell you that 60 to 90ms the skill checks are a nice pace. But any higher than that the needle speeds across the circle.

Mate dead by daylight is so laggy. I can run games like fallout 4 fine. I can run overwatch at 1440p high settings 100fps capped (never drops, not sure how high it goes).I boot up dead by daylight and my normally silent PC literally sounds like it's screaming. It's possibly the only game I have that lags (FO4 will have to have settings turned down but if you look at games like far cry 5 which look far more impressive than dead by daylight and run so much more smoothly even with large open world's on high settings I sometimes wonder if the Devs even bothered trying to optimise dbd)

Sir. You have McDonalds wifi or a broken console/controller

That's not even true rank 1s power through ruin about half the time.
0 -
There are plenty of potatoes that can't due to rank being so easy to obtain
1 -
my only guess is that this is due to frame rate. consoles are stuck at 30 where pc has a lot more freedom
0 -
Hmm I hope but I somehow doubt it. It's been like this forever

Next gen consoles should be able to handle this unoptimized bug we call a game.

I get on average 80-90 ping, green ping. I'm LAN connected. I've played through 5 different controllers and it was always the same. Ive played with my OWN controller when i was on pc and it didnt have that problem. My guess thats my TV is having a problem because i think my old Sony bravia is not for gaming and it may have delay because its capped at 30 fps.

3 factors:
- FPS
- Monitor refreshrate
- Input device delay
A pc can be worse than console

when i was playing in the pc cafe i could reach 600+ fps in fortnite

If I need to hit a great skill check I need to press it maybe around 2-3 great skill check bars beforehand (or it might be closer to a good skill check bar I'm not quite sure) So hitting all greats with another person on the gen doing the same and getting it done in 45 seconds was sweet :)

Well that seems to be a powerful pc if the settings were all on max.
The point I was trying to make: a weak pc can have the same issue (or worse) than console. It's not a platform issue but a performance issue
