Crouching Behind Hooked Survivors
Been seeing this a bit lately while playing killer. I don't know what streamer popularized this tech but it's stupid.
The basic concept, get between the hook and the hooked survivor and bait the killer into swinging. They aim assist into the hooked survivor giving enough time to unhook while they're in cool down.
The problem.
- You and the killer can have a staring contest while the hooked survivor dies.
Why is the tech stupid?
- The killer can still hit you.
Have a nice day. 🤗

Well it's pretty difficult to get the hit due to a hooked survivor having the circumference of clowns gut

I’ve had a bunch run away then turn and run onwards to me a ton lately. That and going between hook and survivor. It never works and looks stupid.

Ah yes, the new hook "tech" that makes the killer waste a few seconds, I find a good counter is utilizing your camp-tech until you get a free hit or grab.

I have a clip of me waiting while a Dwight continued switching sides trying to bait a swing. He finally attempted the unhook and I grabbed him. Game over; they were the last two.

That's too funny man, I love seeing people do this "tech".

"Aim assist"
Shows how reliable your posts are

Agreed. It doesn’t even bother me, you’re literally just helping your teammate die by having me stand there 😂

This happened to me once. The other day actually, how do they manage to do that? Its the most non-smart thing to do.

Agreed. New hook tech sucks.

That new "hook tech" should be called "throwing the game in a fancy way".

yet some killers complain about it

A toxic Blendette just did that behind my hook. I cheered the Billy when he chainsawed her down.

its actually best to camp when they do this and not try to get the hit since hitboxes concerning hooked survivors are to big to consistently hit the person under them. While doing this you also are effectively stopping two survivors from working on gens as one risks going to 2nd stage or death and the other risks getting grabbed. IF you are really lucky another survivor will try to help as well but will mostly just wait nearby.

yea its technically hit registration since the killers hit detection cone will sense if a survivors hitbox is inside it as your attacking and will set your camera/view to look at the survivor as you hit them to make the animation of your attack connecting look good. This does suck when concerning hooked survivors however because of their hit box being wider/bigger than a standing survivor and if both of the survivors are in you hit cone you will attack the closest one which is often the hooked survivor when they try this tech.

Yeah good killers know how to aim towards the hook which is why the tech is useless.

or we can just camp to stop two survivors from doing anything as one dies and we get closer to winning. It also often results in grabs as the one idiotic survivor doing this tech panics when we dont try to hit them and there friend is about to go into the next sacrifice stage.

This stupid tech irritated me, until Monto gave a tutorial of how to beat it. Basically, get to the side and look at the hook pole, then swing. Easy to defeat.
