Hatch should only spawn with <5 gens done when there’s only one survivor left.
Spawning it when gens still have to be completed by 2 survivors makes it really unfair for 1 of them, because as it stands currently, scaredy cats will hide or hold hostage and force the other survivor to effectively kill themselves to end the match. You know, instead of the last survivors trying to get out alive together.
It also just feels really cheap as the killer. If I am able to, I would much rather kill the guy not participating than the one actually trying to do the objective.

When moris get balanced we can do something about hatch
16 -
Fixing the hatch would benefit survivors since it’s the OTHER survivors suffering for it.
17 -
Moris are a useable offering to kill one or more players if you hook them.
Hatch is a mechanic to prevent endless games and standoffs.
Yeah totally comparable.
21 -
Way to go with your stock answer for anyone mentioning hatch. He wasn’t stating it’s unfair to killer, he’s stating it’s unfair and annoying to your teammates and I agree. As solo queue survivor I’ve had a lot of teammate hide in lockers waiting for me to die so they can have hatch.
Yes I could do the same but that’s not fun, I’ll take the chase but you can believe when I get hooked I will struggle the entire minute hoping the killer finds the other person too.
13 -
Moris are not equal to the Hatch. You can dominate a game, and if you dont slug the 3rd survivor, the 4k is pretty much a RNG nightmare that the last survivor usually finds the hatch with. Now, if you wanna talk about balancing Moris with Keys, I might go for that. I still think Keys are more powerful than Moris anyway. And Keys show up more in blood webs than Ebony Moris do, and that's really the only Mori people have a problem with.
I think the Hatch needs to be replaced with a different sort of end game for a final survivor. Maybe they have to last 2 or 3 minutes and then the gates open by themselves? Idk. Something that would end with a final chase would be nice, and not a chase that leads to a random hole in the ground.

Killers consider hatch cheap cause some survivors that use it for escape.
Survivors consider moris cheap cause it ends the game/kills survivor when you are not supossed to.
3 -
Making the hatch appear when there's just one survivor left would also be a nerf to keys. I like the idea.
1 -
If hatch woulod only spawn at 5 gens we can as well delete it, since killer is able to open the doors and start egc -_-?
What if 1 survivor is left and 3 gens need to be completed?
Will survivors take again the game hostage? how could you activate egc?
You're fix doesn't make any sense.
1 -
The "supossed fix" OP's bringing to the table would damage a lot of other game mechanic.
If hatch only would spawn at 5 gens, if there is 1 survivor left and 5 gens are not completed, how does egc activate?
will survivor take again the game hostage which forces killer to dc?
0 -
You have a point,but no.
Yes,there are player that do that, but in higher ranks people either do gens, get chased or the "scaredy cats" look for a key in chests. If they fail, then they either work on a gen till their spine chill is active, then urban away or they camp the exit gates, with a hope of the other survivor to finish the last ten. Honestly,I am a "scaredy" cat. If I found the hatch,I'll search the closest box in hopes of getting a key, otherwise I work on gens and probably get into a Chase and die XD
1 -
Well. They're comparable when discussing keys and moris
0 -
What? Mori literally is just an offering. Hatch is every game. Literally most people mori only for challenges and archive challenges
0 -
Please read carefully. All I’m saying is that if survivors have died and gens still need to be completed, then the hatch should only appear when 1 is left. Nothing about the egc changes. Just that a survivor can’t camp and leave the other to an inevitable demise.
0 -
Yeah that's pretty unhealthy, but there's discouragement enough towards camping because of bp. If someone maxes out their objectives and boldness they deserve to camp hatch maybe?
0 -
Edit your title then.
"HATCH SHOULD ONLY SPAWN WITH <5 GENS DONE WHEN THERE’S ONLY ONE SURVIVOR LEFT."
With that title people understand that for the last survivor to escape all gens need to be completed.
And if the hatch doesn't spawn once "5 gens be completed" this would be a nerf to keys, andt that's why I bring the table that mori needs to be touched as well.
0 -
Read carefully, please.
He's saying that if 5 gens dont get completed the hatch doesn't spawn.
This would be a nerf to keys, and if keys get changed/nerfed moris should as well.
4 -
it can help when there is still 2 gens and only 2 survivors and 1 finds a key and can luckily have 1 or both escape. I do hate hatch campers though.
0 -
That is not what I said, way to be alarmist. The hatch would still spawn but only when survivor 3 dies. This changes nothing about 4 survivors escape via hatch or egc. This WOULD, however, nerf the survivors who hide and don’t do anything and force the other to die to end the match. And HOPEFULLY buff teamwork.
0 -
Actually, you're all misunderstanding the topic. They're saying it shouldn't spawn in if there's more than one person slice unless all gens are completed. So it would spawn under the following circumstances:
- All gens done (spawns closed)
- 1 survivor left (spawns open, can be closed to start EGC)
2 -
Check out my thread about Gen rush, I have a suggestion/Balance.
0 -
No. How about when we fix idk everything wrong with survivor side. Before you list off the same thing you guys always list off. "Toolboxes, Hatch or Keys, survivor perk nerfs" in that order. Because the decline in killers is going to ruin this game, and you guys are at fault. Sit down.
1 -
Why can't people just stop bitching about stuff and just play the game is the real question.
4 -
I would agree if only the basement is also closed till 5 gens are done since the basement is the killer counterpart/special mechanic opposite to hatch for survivors
0 -
I am someone that agree that keys and mori need to be nerfed.
1 -
Im saying 3/2 SURVIVORS escaping when there's 1/2 gen left.
Would this still work?
Cause you're post is really confusing and the title as well.
0 -
Because anyone who's played long enough and is actually good at the game and not toxic can see who has the advantage. But I'll leave that up to you to decide...
0 -
Ok how about this? As soon as the hatch spawns the killer can close (damage, seal, whatever) it just like you would to trigger egc. This might also trigger a clunk noise, or at least have a different graphic (excluding add ons or perks) so survivors can see this is no longer an escape (keys no longer work here)
However when this action would trigger egc like it does now it automatically triggers.

"When you are not supposed to"? That's out ENTIRE job as Killers. Four of you can split up and tackle your objectives however you like, but were forced to come after you one at a time. Mori's help us level the field by reducing numbers faster and helping to keep the pressure up. Add to that that we STILL have to chase you down TWICE to even use it, and all survivors have to do is use the key ONCE, or find the hatch ONCE, and that's game for EVERYONE, not just one person. We use a Mori, and three people still have a chance. You use a key, and that's game over unless we find it before the rest of your team does. Hatch shouldn't spawn open, and keys should have a skill check that breaks it if failed. Once check for purple, two for pink.
0 -
So you think moris are balanced and keys are op? Try playing survivor sometime you'll see how fair moris are.
1 -
Hatch is in every game no matter what, a mori is not.
0 -
How about no.
0 -
1) 2 survivors are not going to finish 5 gens unless the killer lets them. One of them is going to die 100%.
2) If you take away hatch, have fun spending 20 minutes looking for an immersed survivor. That's really the entire point of hatch, to provide a resolution to the game.
4 -
I think the hatch should spawn in the same fashion as before with 2 gens done. Other then that EGC should start when the second to last survivor dies and the last survivor have 2 minutes to acquire points or be found. Since the doors would not be active. I hate how the game punishes the Killer for doing well and let's the survivors get another chance despite the failure. I also noticed that ever since the hatch rule change Survivors are getting worse.
When Keys gets balanced we can do something about Mori's. They literally are both used for the same thing which is cutting objectives out. Unlike Keys though a Ivory or Ebony Mori requires the killer to actually hook you doing the objective. A Survivor can literally hide all game and just take hatch with a key and leave. This is how they work at a fundamental level without all the nitpicking of actions.
1 -
I mean, why not at this point? Keys would then serve only as a way to get out after the killer closes the hatch. Also, this would eliminate hatch campers and either side knowing where it is beforehand.
0 -
Honestly I think many others including myself would find that lasting 3 minutes is way too easy, I think we might want to go for something a bit more challenging
1 -
I can dig that. This was just a base idea. There could be some kind of new objective tied into it to.
0 -
hatch pops up to force the game to an end.
with your idea, when you kill 3 with 0 gens done, the last player could literally hide from you for all eternity, which would be a game taken hostage situation.
the current version of the hatch prevents this, by eigther allowing the survivor to escape - should they find it first - or the killer to start the EGC - should he find it first.
in any of these situations, the game gets forced to an end, which is the sole reason this was implemented for anyway.
0 -
Im a trapper main and I only think it’s cheap because after all my setup and about eight traps hitting, one scaredy cat gets to escape because one guy actually tried to play the game. I play a lot of survivor too, so it feels like the survivor that sacrificed was cheated out of a whole teammate and a lot of BP.
0 -
Both needs to get nerfed
0 -
I don't think hatch should spawn until at least two gens are finished like it used to be. People shouldn't get rewarded for playing terribly
0 -
I disagree. The keys how they currently stand I feel are very balanced for both sides. Sure if you don’t have a key you’re at a disadvantage if you’re not swf and someone else has a key, but if you’re complaining about it, why not just run a key? Or make some friends 😂
0 -
It won't do anything to change the scenario you are talking about.
Players still know the hatch will spawn so it doesn't matter when or where l it is as those players will still hide hoping to get it. Yes they may do gens but if not this actually has the potential to prolong games and create hostage situations.
The hatch by design is to help end the game quicker along with giving players a chance at escaping another way. It also fits into the lore as the entity feeds off hope.
1 -
These two things have little to do with each other. I agree mori's need to be looked at. That's a topic that deserves it's own thread. I would argue that regardless of whether mori's are in the game or not that the hatch is mostly fine. In fact, it is equally beneficial to the killer. I remember many games from before the EGC that I pretty much massacred the survivors at the start of the match.
That left me with a situation of 2 survivors needing 5 gens done. That just isn't going to happen. Everyone left in the game knows that isn't going to happen. So both survivors go super immersive just to waste time. It's not fun. Spending half an hour running around checking lockers is dumb. I would much rather have one or both survivors escape just to move onto the next match.

One issue with your suggestion about hatch the achievement for all four survivors leaving by using the hatch, which is a achievement for console and is a pain to attempt for as most console killers tend to either camp the hook or just tunnel a survivor who has been hooked, both are equally annoying, I play both killer and survivor. The hatch spawns after all 5 gems are done as is even if all survivors are alive due to that achievement, it is not open but can be opened by the key
0 -
Bruh they won't stop because behavior bends the knee.
0 -
They do.
OP's bring this change to the table:
If hatch only would spawn when 5 gens completed, this a NERF TO KEYS, since it would not spawn at 1/2 gens and 2 or 3 survs can't escape anymore.
Keys > Moris

No.

I agree

He is a troll just dont argue with that kind of people
