Are the devs ever going to fix hitting survivors on the hook?
A while back they changed this so it was no longer a thing, then they added it back (accidentally I assume).
Now, it seems even worse than before, autoswing easily locking onto it and sometimes directly hitting a survivor will somehow hit the unhooked person, causing no damage and costing you the match.
Survivors have also figured out an unbeatable strategy, hiding within the hooked survivor. Once there, the killer cannot hit you, and if he tries, he'll hit the hooked survivor, allowing for an easy rescue during his cleaning animation.
I just want this to be removed already, so killers can no longer bm survivors, so autoswing can stop being annoying and so survivors can no longer abuse the mechanic.

Its not unbeatable

They said that hitting the survivor on the hook is a thing they want to be in the game.
Also, if your are the killer and they are hiding in the hooked survivor, that's a good thing. They are enabling you to very easily camp 2 survivors at once, 1 of them in the process of dying. Just sit there and let them get to 2nd phase / death while the other survivor thinks he's hot #########.

hitting survivors imo is fine, can be used to avoid a hit if they are facecamping or whatever
being able to get behind them on the hook is 100% an exploit and no amount of "bUt iTS a tEcH" will change my mind

I actually had a feng earlier crouch between hook and survivor on hook and I couldn’t hit her. I tried from all angles and it was annoying. I did manage to get her later and made sure she died for cheating.

And in the process you lose two to three gens. This tactic only works against Survivors who are desperate for the save. It could you cost you the game if you use this against Survivors who do gens.

i like my meat beaten.

I'd just target the unhooker. Even if you get one kill from that game, it's worth it. If not, hopefully the next game will be better.

Okay, so a survivor is hiding inside of a hooked survivor. You cannot hit them because they can't take any damage and they'll just unhook in your face during the cleaning animation. How do you beat this strategy. I'll gladly accept an answer if you have one.

When? I'm not imagining them intentionally removing the feature, am I? I'm pretty sure it was in some patch notes.
I mean, I guess that works, but facecamping a survivor to death isn't exactly fun. And literally any survivor can just run to a hooked survivor and hide inside them, which feels really cheap and stupid.

This was from the start an intended feature, and when removed from the game was done by accident, it being back isn't a bug it was intentional.

Fair enough, but can the devs at least make it actually work properly? You shouldn't hit the rescuer only for it to somehow phase through them and hit the hooked survivor instead.

Good on you.

Thats my issue. I always do that but its now so buggy that physically hitting an unhooker can somehow phase through them and hit the unhooked person. Causing no damage to either one.

Could you link the patchnotes where they said this? If its truly the case then fair enough.

Some times a survivor needs a little smacking on the hook for their own bm'ing. I'm glad it was added back.

It wasn't in any patch notes, it was in one of their live streams, I believe it was in the Archives live stream around Halloween, but I could be mistaken.

Someone did this to me the other day. They thought that I would just sit there and let them unhook and let their friend go. Well, sorry, you don’t want to respect the killer, I’m not going to respect them. I tunneled the unhooked person and their teammate used the tech again. Rinse and repeat, 3 survivors left. The salt in chat was delicious, maybe next time they would think twice before acting like that.
I got a 3k and left the “tech” user slugged, while I hooked their teammates. Was a mistake, he got the hatch. Next time they want to act like that I’m going to let them all bleed out.

Have the Devs say it's an exploit

I still hit them when they tried the hook tech thing. Lucky, i guess.

imagine thinking using the collision to avoid being hit as "outplaying" the killer
no, you are just exploiting the game
1 -
I've never used the hook tech lmao

I think you missed the point. The rescuer can't be hit, and it instead hits the person on the hook, causing the killers hit animation delay which the rescuer uses to unhook the person on the hook. It's an exploit.

Not even bubba can hit the "hidden" rescuer with his chainsaw...that was surprising.

Answer is simple. No.

It's not consistent and survivors aren't invincible. You can hit them if you bait them to turn to the wrong side.

Devs in the last stream said that this thing of rescuers hiding behind the hooked survivor is a glitch and it isn't meant to be there at all. Obviously, because they are a small team with only 230 people working on the game, if we are lucky the fix will arrive this spring .... considering is a killer problem, maybe this summer 😂

But its really easy for them to avoid it, and if you screw up even once, its a free unhook.

Walk to the left side of the hook. Look at the hook pole and swing, hopefully you're using ghostface and can now tbag the downed survivor for being an idiot.

It's not. I have never been baited by the hook tech.

I agree! I just played as Huntress for a daily and had the most toxic SWF team ever... When I went to hook one Claudette another Claudette would crouch in front of me so that after I hooked, I would hit the hooked survivor (apparently the crouching Claudette is invincible crouching there?) and she would unhook right after I swung and to my surprise had borrowed time! lol, what a (bad word) joke that this is even possible....I understand why some killers DC out of frustration.

You have two survivors at one hook. Seems like it's in your favor to me.

Gotta love facecamping two survivors at once, instead of being able to just hit them and move on with your game.
