Some questions on the new ruin changes

I can kinda understand why it needed a change, and i don't want to jump too conclusions before i actually try it out

I do have some questions

It says "if a Generator is not being worked on, it regresses at [1/1.5/2] times the normal regression rate. "

Does this mean i don't need to kick it to regress it? And if not if i do kick it would it regress even faster?

I'm also a bit confused about the new gatekeeper, how does it work exactly? It still sounds that it wants you to keep as many generators unrepaired as possible

Will it be possible to get irridecent in this if 2-3 gens popping in the first 2 minutes are going to be very common

The stuff the devs do often sounds a lot weaker on paper then it is in game so i'm willing to give this a try but the effect does seem really weak for being a hex totem

No you don't need to kick the generator - it regresses automatically as soon as the survivor leaves go of the gen....you cannot regress an already regressing generator even further, so you don't kick the gen further.

The new version of the Gatekeeper emblem is less punishing for killers who currently lose 1 or 2 gens in the early stages of the match, and also there is now the addition of being able to get extra Gatekeeper points for the exit gates remaining closed. It will help to get a stronger result in the Gatekeeper emblem

And thank you for remaining so calm and discussing the proposed changes, I look forward to reading your feedback after you've tried things out on the ptb.

This is probably me being dense but when You say ‘can not regress a regressing gen’

does that mean I lose the ability to kick gens with new ruin?

What about pop then? That's park of my usual toolkit, so can I still kick the gen to get my 25% regress? Or, does that ability basically get depricated with a ruin perk now? Not too thrilled about these ruin changes as a former survivor main doing 50/50 splits now, but willing to give it a shot.

    Thanks for the quick response

Not having to waste time to kick gens and there are quite a few perks that synchronise with regressing gens (surveilence comes to mind) makes it not seem that bad

I'm skeptical but exited to try new builds atleast, other hex totems like devour might become better now if survivors don't activly start looking for them first thing in the game

And if gatekeeper doesn't punish it too hard i don't care about how fast i lose the first few gens as long as the last ones can be defended

I did notice the new ruin having anti-synergy with pgtw i guess that's intended : p

yes you don't kick the gen with the new version of Ruin, because it's already regressing. Don't kick and can't kick.
