LOL... You peeps are too funny.
Ruin is getting changed... And you still haven't tried it yet...
BUT THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!
You know... I've gotten angry at this game... at the Devs....
But seriously.... About 90% of the first two pages of the discussion group is all about killers not wanting Ruin changed. Making up everything they can do prevent it from changing.
LUL
Come on!
Let us try it first... You may like it.

Just another Monday on the DBD forums.

[Doubt]
People act like the sky is falling because BVHR doesn't have a great track record with perk changes.

This is different to nerfing a killer
everyone knows the difference between a game with ruin and a game without it

try it before complaining about it? you must be new here

It's the one line at the end of the post that has people unhappy.
Ruin now has great end game potential. (Or something similar)
Shows a developer that doesn't understand the most basic part of their game, the flow of matches.

Can I just ask, do you play killer games at all? Or are you a swf kinda gamer? If so, what rank are you in?

you havent even tried it, LOL

Extremely doubtful.
I have detailed why it is a fundamentally badly designed perk.
I'll make it brief.
The effect it gives is alright, it isn't good, not bad either. It is supposed to be for late game pressure. Sure, I can see that. It pairs well with Surveillance. Yup, seems like it. The only problem is, IT IS STILL A HEX PERK. It will still be out of the game in 30 seconds. Its effect no longer warrants the Hex status, it simply isn't powerful enough. Even if you do get to the late game and it is still active, you would've been better off taking Devour.

please read again then

I was just thinking the same thing. Half these posts have to be troll posts. One thing, at least they all give us something to laugh at.... Let the whining continue on...

And yet so many people know how huge it is.
Think about it this way. How many games have you escaped with ruin. For me at rank 5 I'd say about 4 out of 5 games. When they don't have ruin, I escape basically every match.
I think the nerf should be taking critically before tried, but should also be judged after people trying it.
Also you haven't tried it either, so don't go around being toxic when there is a chance that the majority is right.

it's a fresh and VERY unexpected topic... Of course people will speak their opinions. Just imagine if it was Adrenaline, DS or Dead Hard, oh boy...

The devs have never once taken PTB feedback into account. The only ruin change we're gonna get is a nerf right before release.

We honestly don't need to try it to know it's bad. See, if they made the regression a thing WITHOUT it being a Hex, it could possibly be a different story. But, it's still a HEX. That's what makes it extremely bad, since it's a terrible version of Surge. At least Surge can break multiple gens just by downing a survivor. But, it's still not that good. It's mediocre at best and Ruin as of now is worse than Surge. Just because it's still a Hex perk. Ruin also gave life into more weaker killers in Red Ranks, so we got to see a little bit of variety. But now it's guaranteed to be nothing but top tier killers. I.E. Freddy, Hillbilly, and Spirit. It's like nerfing adrenaline to not work when it activates while you're downed or on a hook and without the speed boost. It just makes you think. "Why would I run this?"

Not exactly rocket science to see why this will end badly. Think about it. A Ruin perk that excels in the late game, you know, when it will already be cleansed. Not to mention they did not even acknowledge the reason people play with ruin.

Probably cause he has a bit of understanding of the game, and knows that new ruin won't be worth the perk slot anymore. When I would like me a hex perk for endgame I would take noed instead.

Actually I think they have. I remember once in the old days... before these forums... when I needed to walk 10 miles to school each day... AND BACK... Small Game got a big nerf... My favourite perk.. I complained... But you know... It was better for the game.
Most people complaining, really do know, the Devs aren't making changes "willy-nilly". They thought this change out... probably tested more versions of it, then we can think of.
I just think we should maybe see how it plays out.
I think there is some dependence on this perk... I think it will better in the long run if killers don't feel that dependence.

I hate this perk both as a survivor and killer. I hate using it and playing against it.
I do see the importance of slowing the gen rush. This game is about challenges and chances, otherwise it gets boring.

But SERIOUSLY...
It is going to PTB... Maybe lets try it out... See how it goes.
There is still time to put in your feedback about it. They aren't just tossing it out into PTB for nothing. Remember when the hatch changes were being looked at. They tried it out on PTB... Then it was put hold and reworked into the EGC.
See how things go in PTB, try it out.... And not just one or two matches... give it a shot.

not like if bhvr announces something that sounds bad at first and gets even worse after its release

I don't think you realize that when they change something it doesn't get changed again. Hence why we don't want it changed in the first place (because we know better than to "wait and see"). Legion was nerfed 8 months ago and they still haven't fixed him.

I generally don't use Ruin
I'm not affected.
I knew this day was coming and didn't want to have my style of play ruined when the inevitable nerf came.

Same here... So funny to still be here to see it. LUL

This is like DS... I hated the first versions of it, on both sides. So never used it... but now after its changes... I think it is allot more fun. So maybe this new version of Ruin will be better.

Thats because if there is no ruin delay effect then you can just completely ignore it and just do gens.
