Do you play red rank killer? I have one of the highest kill ratios to time played on Xbox so PLEASE tell me how you manage to slow down the game with your all knowing expertise since you clearly don’t need it.

Yeah, I do actually. The VAST MAJORITY of my games consist of 1-3 Ranks, the occasional Purples.
Slow the game down? Get better at Map Pressure. Not every game HAS to be a 4K and not every game WILL be a 4K.
I opened a thread last week on me testing not playing with Ruin, I win more games than lose and i rotate between all Killers except:
Cannibal, Demo, Huntress and Nurse.
want a solution starting out without Ruin? Use NoED.
We’ve also been gifted perks such as: Corrupt Intervention which is an immediate slowdown and Thrilling Tremors.
Quit crying about it and learn to adapt. You’re a killer, you have to adapt each game anyways.

Get better map pressure? So when I decide to play clown and the game loads up Backwater Swamp I’m supposed to high rail it to the gen across the map so I can use PGTW right? Well guess what, by the time I get there, and say I do manage to pop it, the gen on the other side of the map has just popped. Do you think I want to play Spirit, Billy, Nurse EVERY red rank game to apply that kind of map pressure??
if you think Corrupt Intervention is going to slow the game down for you, I’ll tell you what I told the other guy. When you have to cover the last 3 gens spread across the map, lmk how it goes.
When you have optimal survivors, they’re gonna know that they need to keep the gens spread out.

I’ve de-ranked to Purple now because I’ve learned to enjoy the game rather than get pissed about 4k. I still get placed with more Reds than anything. Here’s an example:

Buddy, you’re just full of whining. I started this season as a Red Rank. You’re upset over Ruin getting nerfed and play in Reds 🤦🏽♂️ Most of the time, Ruin is cleansed within the first 2 minutes or playing an optimal team Gens are still being popped left and right.
Yes, apply better map pressure. Not my fault you chose to play Clown and got placed on Backwater and aren’t playing optimally or think you DESERVE 4 kills just because.

I don't use Ruin because I hate hex perks, but I still think it's a terrible change. The reason Ruin is so popular is because it slows down gen repair from the start, which is important to help keep four gens from popping before you find the first survivor.
Ruin's popularity has little to do with the Gatekeeper Emblem. It has to do with being useful in the early game. The devs reworked it and took away the thing that made it popular.
Now, it will only be useful in late game, which hex totems rarely survivor to see. Hell, half the time survivors spawn on top of Ruin and cleanse it before the killer even gets across the map to check on it.
Survivors benefit from this change. Killers don't benefit from it at all, especially not if they don't give a damn about pipping.
I don't use gen slowdown perks because I don't really care if survivors gen rush me and escape in three minutes; if that's their idea of fun, so be it. I don't run add-ons, so any BP I make is profit.

Nope not the same. Don’t even try it, you don’t play red rank killer and you if a rank 16 on the survivor team is the best you can do it terms of a screenshot, I can tell you don’t do well in higher skill based games.

First off, I get your point and the reasoning behind Ruin. I didn’t know they were even nerfing it.
Secondly, if four gens pop before you find a survivor... uhh... TERRIBLE map pressure.
Thirdly, if ONE perk ruins a killer then maybe this community isn’t so great at killing like they think. I see plenty of YTers not running Ruin and do just fine.

Running Devour allowed my Ruin to be destroyed early. Thanks to two highlighted totems.
But yes, use an excuse to get out of the discussion. You’re doing nothing but whining which is the point of the post. You relied on ONE perk and now you might not be so capable of holding your precious Red Rank 1. Poor you.

Yeah, I only run DH and I’m a rank 4 Survivor at the moment.
The only survivor perk I’ve become “reliant” on is Quick and Quiet.

That was hyperbole. Usually, the problem is that three gens pop by the time a killer hooks their first survivor.
And YTers aren't average players; many practically play this like it's their job (for some, it is).
I never said anything about the perk ruining killers. Like I said, I don't use Ruin. I can't speak for those who do use it. But there are reasons it's a popular perk despite how fragile hex perks are, and the rework doesn't respect those reasons.
Whatever. I kinda hope the rework goes through and it frustrates less skilled killers so much that they quit playing. It's not like the game's tutorial teaches killers how to properly apply gen pressure, so rather than trying to "git gud" it's quite likely many will quit. Maybe with no one playing killer the core game mechanics will get reworked. Tunneling, camping, gen rushing, and relying on the hatch are all unhealthy game mechanics that are never going to be addressed unless something drastic happens to the playerbase. But that's completely off topic.

Also, from my reading, BHVR didn’t want a 4K game for the killer. They wanted it to be a 2:2.
Plenty of non-YT killers out there that do not run ruin, I’ve seen it more often now than not in Reds as a survivor.
Now, a new breed of Killers will come up and those that relied on it will have to adjust.

Just because I recognize bad perk design, doesn't mean I use it. FYI. I pretty much only play Trapper and run Corrupt Intervention. The fact is, Corrupt is more power than new!Ruin, yet the latter is still a hex perk. That is bad game design.
And if you think THIS is crying, I really wish you would have been here when Mettle of Man got nerfed. The forums made Iraq look like a vacation spot.

Killers are still viable without Ruin. I’m not going to apologize if you relied on a PERK to be an effective killer. Even with Ruin against a “gen-rush” SWF I can lose. I’ve proved I can also win against them without it.

Survivors cried about DS nerf because they die in 70% of the games, that's the official killrate in red ranks. And killers cry about ruin when they win in 70% of the games. It's not even comparable.

A few screen shots don't prove any points. You're only one player. This is anecdotal evidence. And it is much easier for potato survivors to reach red ranks than for killers to rank up. Survivors can carry their teammates. Survivors don't have to escape to pip. Showing a screen that a killer destroyed red rank survivors means nothing without a video of the gameplay to go with it, and even then, it's still anecdotal evidence from one player.
None of it even matters. Equipping a perk isn't expected to be a guaranteed win, not equipping a perk isn't expected to be a guaranteed loss. A lot of killers equipped Ruin so they could have a less stressful game where they weren't so crunched for time. Ruin gave them breathing room. Sure, they might lose anyway, but the match probably still went longer and everyone earned more points than if the killer didn't equip Ruin.

First: 2 out of the 4 red ranks did not have a DH/SB/BL or any of those!
Second: not a SINGLE one of them had DS!
Third: One of them killed himself or something - sub 1000 points score , so it was 3v1 !
Forth: you have only 18k score so you didn't even rank up from that.
A decent group of green ranks can make your Bubba cry in the corner.

I have plenty of breathing room without it and haven’t noticed a difference. You all are just crying because you don’t have a guarantee to generator slow which causes you to have to do more. Cry more. It’s anecdotal but my point stands that it’s possible.
