Killer-mains using dirty tactics to skew stats on PTB
So apparently killers taking BNPs and toolboxes and trying to genrush in every game on PTB to try to skew the stats is a thing. I just saw some of them admitting that in the post-game chat. They try to prove that gens are done too fast without old ruin, though I rarely see BNPs in non-PTB games nowadays. That's really as cheap as it can get, congrats, killer-mains.
70% killrate in red ranks is apparently not enough anymore, they'll do anything to get 4k in every game.
I hope DEVs will filter out those games from the PTB stats.

Edit: Now I get what you say. Do you know that gens are done too fast even without BNP? You just need a toolboxes and let the genrushing begin

It's not "dirty" tactics. It's a reality. This is something that happens WITH ruin now, and it will get progressively worse without it in the future. Killers don't need to do this to skew stats, and believe it or not, survivor mains (ones who actually know the game - which I can see isn't you) for the large part agree that killers are getting the shaft here for no good reason. 80% of my hours, at least, are survivor. Even I think the changes are stupid.

It's not 70% for all killers (just Freddy), if you're gonna use statistics to drive a point at least make sure you're accurate. Clown has a 53% kill rate, you gonna try and tell us 50% is a good place for killers? Play clown for a day at purple ranks and let us know how quickly you drop him for a better killer.

I, too, would like for them to ignore SWF matches where 1 Red rank brings his 3 Green friends and suddelny it's a 3K Red ranks game.
Sadly many people don't understand the frailty of bad statistics.

I mean if gens fly by, even if it is with toolboxes, then they're still proving something is wrong aren't they? Especially since you can find those easily in chests and bring them with you at the start.

Ok so forget the ranking system, the closest killer to the 50% mark is Clown. Just so happens Clown is called the worst killer in the game. He has no mobility tools, no slowdown, no tools to find people, all he has is the power to potentially slow chases down. Please tell me more about 50% being balanced

No, it's not and here's why. If you're getting a 50% against potatoes, it's going to be a 0K against people that actually know this game. This game needs to be balanced around a Ruthless killer against the very best in this game.
Look at say Starcraft, an actual professional game that's balanced by professional developers. They balance everything right at the top, because it's maximum potential, new players can learn to play like that. The game is fine, but the player is bad. BHVR is balancing at the bottom, which allows bad survivors to win, and great survivors to dominate.

First of red ranks means they have red rank killers in it. You know the ones that matchmaking is lacking right now, that is why in bloodhunt i with a full squad of r1 survivors was matched against yellow rank killers. The stats are meaningless.

I think survivor mains should just counter them by playing killer in the ptb and show them how to apply genpressure without it. Should be simple, can show the devs how killers get 4k every game anyway, right?

Im seeing the same thing. Ruin is a crutch perk for unskilled killers. This outrage proves just how many unskilled killers are out there who will viciously defend a perk they need to win, instead of actually just getting good on their own.

I actually ran into a bunch of these guys as well and it's very annoying, and makes the legit concerns less likely to be taken serious.
Thee guys had trolly anti ruin names, took offerings for maps they knew all the totem spawns on and would track it down and break it immediately, then with engineer toolboxes and would gen rush like mad.
If you get people like this just disconnect from the game; anytime there is a disconnect the match doesn't get used for research purposes, it disqualifies it negating their entire reason for trolling in the first place. So just do that.

There is a point to this though. If it's that easy to do in the PTB, nothing is going to change in the main game, those tactics are still going to be there. BHVR acts like all survivors have a sense of fair play, rather than being the toxic little turd containers that they are.

I just wish the totem was like, blocked for 60 seconds, or doesn't light up until like a gen or two are done, that would make it last at least long enough for set up killers to do their thing; because I've used the new perk it is better late game and about as good mid game and way worse early game. Thing is if it's always destroyed in said early game it's not even a "Gamble" it's just useless.
I think making it not light up until 2 gens is done would be the absolute most fair way to do it. People can still get rid of it quick-ish if they want, but it still gives set up killers the time they need, and if they power through it they can still do 2 gens VERY quick because it's very weak early on, still getting enough time to be useful, and then after that sure enough it will get broken and never make it to it's OP state.

If anything is skewing the stats at red ranks, it's the ease at which survivors rank up. Survivors that should be green/purple rank flood the red ranks and artificially inflate kill rates in red ranks. So, I doubt we know the real statistics on escape/kill rates of red ranks, which is supposed to be where all of the really good survivors are. The rank reset changes, and the difficulty of ranking up killer perpetuate this, and it gives us the perception that kill rates in red ranks are higher than they actually are.

StarCraft is also a game published and developed by a massive corporation that's got lots and lots of money. They can afford to keep a game going on just balance patches with a focus exclusively on eSports (which also makes them lots of money).
Dead by Daylight, however, is a smaller game from a smaller studio, that constantly adds new content (not just balance changes, like StarCraft) and doesn't make any money off of a large eSport Scene. Instead, it relies exclusively on MicroTransactions to make a profit. MicroTransactions, you might notice, don't make all that much money, unless you have a larger playerbase. Something you're not going to manage to do, if you're only balancing your game for the couple hundred hardcore high level players.

I can tell you're young, I'm old enough to have bought Warcraft 2 on launch day. They had just moved from a 3000sqft building into a 14Ksqft office and had about 15 employees, 8 programmers worked on it. They were just good at their jobs.
