PS4 has dedicated servers (DC? be warned)
Yesterday was a bit odd with bodies moving slightly being not where I hit them but so far I'm very happy with them.
DCs have been reduced and people are looking themselves on the hook which is fine but killers shouldn't be penalised.
Well done BHVR!

There are no DC punishments as yet but at least killers will no longer be able to DC to deprive survivors of all their bloodpoints when they get no kills.

I heard BHVR had started bans but this was before PlayStation servers went live and during PC servers, no platform was mentioned

Dc punishments aren't live yet. Anywhere.

Ok, what's happened... suddenly skill checks are faster and lag jitter and don't get me started on killer hits and teleporting back to where I was...
Why aren't the clients p2p and monitoring/matchmaking/other stuff done on servers?
Nothing is faster than direct device to decide for game play

I should mention this has gradually become worse, likely with more people in my region playing the game

Killers dc do deny survivors bloodpoint lol. Killers dc - survivors get 5k bp for escaping, survivors dc - killer gets - 650

Not sure how it worked on PC in the past before servers, but if a killer closed the app or turned off their console, survivors would be kicked out of game with zero bloodpoints. That may be what was being referenced.

Yes, as @Facture correctly surmised, this was more of a console specific issue, because survivors only got their 5K bloodpoints if the killer chose to DC by calmly choosing the Leave Match button. More often than not, in a rage, they would switch off their console and every survivor would score zero points, losing all the points they had accumulated in the game.
