The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

DBD needs cross platform or make it a free game.

Seriously, with queue times being absolutely absurd, the only thing they can do is make it cross platform or open it up free and call it a beta.

Option 1:

If possible, cross platform would be amazing. It could also have the game a little less toxic in the sense of harassment in end game chat, and less swfs on mics. Don’t show that someone is on what platform- less of a chance to receive hate mail. More people queueing up means less of a chance to run into a SWF on comms.

I play Paladins and they also have cross platform even with PC, and you can choose whether or not you want to go against keyboard and mouse, or if PC wants to go against gamepad. It would be YOUR choice, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to. I like this idea the best.

Option 2:

make this game FREE. Let people come and go as they please. This game does not run flawlessly though it’s been out for years. Call it a beta or (“early access”) like Fortnite and make your money with purchasing characters/battle pass aka RIFT. The game would still make a lot of money because I truly believe not many people are gonna come anymore- so make your cash a different way. Most games do not have this problem that Dead By Daylight does, so why punish those who support you yet can’t get into a game? Someone comes to this subreddit to decide and they’ll most likely turn away just by hearing “long wait times”. I got this game when it was free... I doubt I would have bought it if it weren’t. I think it would help a lot if were free, truly.

I would love for the DEVS to see this post. If more people agree, we need to voice this and make it happen! Don’t stop talking about it.

We already have Cross-play, you can enable/disable it in the settings menu

That's only between Steam and the Windows Store. OP is a console player.

I don't think it is a lack of players, it is just a lack of killers. You could double the player base but if there aren't enough people playing killer, then you will still have long queue times as survivor (and vice versa).

    DONT. EVER. MAKE. IT. FREE.

the chances that we get even more kids then we now have is extremely high then! i noticed that on every free weekend tht we had so far .. they are only annoying with even more butdances nd trolling even if they die. that not the main problem because the main problem is the toxity! they are even more toxic then what we (or at least i have encoutered after or before free weekends) have normally.

Que time's aren't a issue of not enough players it's just that one the matchmaking system isn't working properly and the game just isn't balanced. Killer is not as fun as survivor for most people so the majority play survivor making the survivor ques insanely long.

We all wish it were. At least the devs have confirmed that it's something they're looking into, even if it's not a reality yet!

    What good would that do?

It would only create a problem for people that switched inbetween platforms, from like ps4/xbox to pc or vice versa. They had to buy everything again, do their progress completely new and so on. Not happening.
