ruin was a training wheel perk
its funny watching all the killers who are falling off their metaphorical bicycles come to complain about their scraped knees and hurt egos as they will no longer get that lucky game once in awhile where ruin stays up more than 30 seconds, resulting in ruin-reliant killers being outed as the frauds they were
non-ruin killers who are actually good get respect

So was Ruin a good perk they could carried by, or was it usually destroyed in 30 seconds?

Ruin is a bandaid to bad design..if it goes things need to change...in a more permanent fix this time

It isn't the ruin dependant killer it's the big maps that make pressuring the gens without ruin harder but I can do well even when ruin is destroyed instantly on smaller maps

Not using ruin was always just putting yourself at a disadvantage, rather than alikening it to training wheels I would instead compare it to a knife in a gun fight with ruin being the gun.
Without ruin you are not prepared.

The big maps are the main thing that make ruin a good perk because if you have a large map that will make it harder to pressure gens without ruin harder not impossible but alot harder when you have to travel large distances

I don't see a reason that you need to be toxic and belittling to people who play killer; they are the reason you have a game to play. This kind of stuff will cause your queue times to skyrocket and your matches to be less enjoyable.

By your own logic ds, bt ,dh and adrenaline are all training wheel perks I presume you don't use those

"Th-those are different! survivors NEED those second, third and fourth chances b-because the killer tunnels and camps us!"
It's just getting so frustrating lately, especially since as a killer I don't do these things and as a survivor I hardly see them. Makes me feel like the people saying them are just shouting at the wind.

Ok god, sorry we can't be god too, shame that the game has to get easier for you so us meer mortals stand a chance. So, so sorry.

Sometimes just two. I also ran noed ocassionally, I feel ashamed.
I don't know if you've heard, but I've started a two-perk club for killer mains, our goal is to main clown without any add ons, we will only run brutal strenght + enduring to show everyone that you can get a 4k with just two perks and that we all just need to git gud and apply pressure.
We will also send map offerings for Ormond, Haddonfield and Red forest. You can join if you want to. When we become good enough to play without perks we will become the really skillful, decent and respectable killers every killer main should be.

Corrupt Intervention is much better anyhow, especially on Clown.
My builds:
Anti-healing Clown:
Corrupt Intervention + Dying Light + Thanatophobia + Coulrophobia
Detective Clown:
Corrupt Intervention + I'm All Ears + Whispers + Infectious Fright
Basement Clown:
Corrupt Intervention + Agitation + Insidious + Make Your Choice
One-shot Clown:
Corrupt Intervention + Haunted Grounds + Make Your Choice + No One Escapes Death
Pressure Clown:
Corrupt Intervention + Surveillance + Discordance + Tinkerer
Endgame Clown:
Blood Warden + No One Escapes Death + Rancor + Play With Your Food

Playing killer is pretty damn hard on console already also to top it off my movement stick is broken so it's ridiculously hard to actually chase survivors

Not a lot of people want to play Competatively so expect training wheel stuff.

Corrupt Intervention exists, arguably better than Pre-Nerf Ruin.
And if Huntresses Lullaby gets 4 or 5 stacks than it's arguably ALSO better than Pre-Nerf Ruin. People will say "If it survives that is", but sometimes Hex perks do stay up for more than 30 seconds, and a Hex perk was never intended to be a definite debuff that'll last more than a minute, that's what a Hex perk basically is... it's a gamble.
Either way, Ruin and Surveillance Post-nerf is amazing, it honestly lets me see everything and anyone that sneaks off of a gen that was being worked on UNTIL I walk up to it. This lets me know they're around and it wasn't just a figment of my imagination.

This post really does make you think. Am I the only one that could not care less whether I have your respect or not?

He has a warped mind. People say it meta but he is🤣🤯👺
Just ignore him.

I never liked this argument for Huntresses Lullaby as by the time you can get it to 5 stacks you could have gotten devour hope to 5 stacks and begin to mori everyone.
Devour hope is barely played even though it might as well say: "Once you reach 5 stacks win the game" which really puts lullaby in a bad light as well 5 hooks may sound easier then 5 unhooks while your far away they are both ultimately the same if your not camping.

True, but the point was that there are alternatives to choose from that're considered to be better, worse, or the same.
Devour Hope is another alternative, but you'll need some sort of buffer to make it worth your while... something like Haunted Grounds, Corrupt Intervention, Pop goes the weasel, something that can work well with it.

So.........
Training wheel perk for who again....
It goes both ways... learn how to turn off your background music and listen for the warning then wait for the skillcheck, or reaction time to hit it at the right moment, or have map knowledge (or perk) to find the totem
Sorry I don't share the same opinion as the OP here but I feel like it needed to be said
So all of the survivors who missed those skillchecks (falling off the bicycle everytime)... DC cause they were caught first... DC cause they missed their DS skillcheck... you can enjoy your 10 minutes of bliss cause soon (tm) it might be reversed....
P.S. I am the survivor who misses that skillcheck, and don't have DS unlocked

So the big problem with this is you're a green rank nothing to bad but there's a huge difference between green and red ranks as killer I've seen red ranks get a gen done in 24 to 40 seconds which is faster then some killers can cross map so that's already 20% of their objective done before you can physically get to them like it or not killers need something to deal with bad maps like this
0 -
Okay, so even if you were in red ranks you run ruin and it gets destroyed fairly quickly. It was very inconsistent to begin with due to skill checks being RNG. You could literally plow through a gen and not have a skill check.
Also, ruin was terrible on large maps anyways because most of the time it would spawn across from you right next to some survivors. It's not terrible, if anything right now the perk is more consistent. Now, if you can get 2+ kills at red ranks with ruin being taken away almost immediately, what's the big deal about the changed ruin?
0 -
Same can be said about Survivors with DS. Or Adrenaline. Or Borrowed Time. Or Dead Hard. Really, any of the staple perks used can be placed in this scenario you've stated.
1 -
The big deal is that will get you time to get some time at the start of the game and the down side of corrupt intervention is what happens once survivors realize they can just blenddette for the beginning two minutes then you're 25% less on your perks at least ruin forced survivors to either power through or get your ruin totem and new ruin takes 50% of your perks to be decent
0 -
I mean... kinda.
But then you also have to accept that many other perks are 'training wheels', including survivor ones.
0 -
Yes that is true. But unfortunately there isn't much you can do to change that. All of it comes down to poor map designs. if there weren't as many poorly designed maps, we wouldn't have a need for ruin
0 -
That's why ruin was needed in some cases bad map design now we have nothing to stop getting screwed by the biggest issue facing dbd
0 -
Hopefully the new patch will actually fix totem spawns
