A(very) early discussion thread about Chapter 15.
Hello once again lovely forum members, I know it's pretty darn early to be talking about our next chapter but I thought it could be a fun topic. Have a look at the video for further info.

So, I'll be completely honest, my bias will shine through. Too anyone who's seen me post about possible future content, you know what's coming. I really hope this is a Resident Evil chapter and despite the fact I'd prefer Jill and Nemesis over a RE2 focused chapter, I'd be happy no matter what RE content we'd get. I've also seen some interesting talk on how this could be a new game mechanic but what do you all think? I'm very interested to see some opinions on this.

A killer that could smash through walls would be awesome although I'd imagine it wouldn't work on main buildings

I actually thought about that a bit and I basically came up with three distinct things.
- Main ability, break walls/vaults, pretty obvious
- Secondary ability, tendril grab, sends a tentacle to pierce a survivor and pull them in or...
- Passive ability, once pierced, inject the T-virus infection into them but loose the pull in factor. Once infected, the survivor must cure themselves or transform into a player controlled zombie.
I don't know, just something I thought up.

I'd like to think it's Jason, but we all know here that it will be an original chapter.

Yeah the power sounds like it would be really unique and having the ability to not be looped would be awesome but there will probably be a long cooldown or stun of some kind that renders the ability not too good.

I think it could work on anything, especially if it has a huge cooldown afterwards, I personally think that balances it out.

It's all right there on the wiki as to why we'll never get this type of Killer. They tried it, and it failed.
Same goes for flying Killers. Way too hard to balance.

Starting at 7:20 in the Youtube video it shows tweets by a head Behaviour dev stating the following:
- Killer is anti-loop.
- Killer can destroy elements of the map.
- Killer's ability has a long cool down.
- Killer's ability has a long map-wide range and does splash damage to multiple survivors.
Nemsis from Resident Evil fits those descriptors. He's a huge monster that can break down walls and carries a rocket launcher as his main weapon.
Man oh man if Behaviour got their hand on the Resident Evil license that'd be a huge get for them.

It would be cool to have a killer that can destroy vaults, maybe make it so that it has a 2 minute cooldown or so, that way it wont be that powerful

Oh hell yes, it'd be a HUGE grab for them. The rocket launcher would probably be for a mori though like @Majestic_Herman said. That would instantly become my favorite mori, just sticking a rocket launcher on a survivor and blowing them up would be fantastic to see.

I think a minute would be fair, then again, you also have to take into account addons that would decrease cool-down so maybe 2 minutes is more fair.

Ok hear me out buuut...i’d really like an Outlast chapter. Chris Walker “The Soldier” would be the killer which makes sense as in the game he can break down metal doors and reinforced glass so bricks shouldn’t be a problem :)
plus the doctors map rework and chase music give me a strong Outlast vibe.

If it was based on Outlast 1 then I'd also love it, I'd prefer that Doc/Surgeon character though. I do also agree, Doc's new music sounds very much in line with something from Outlast.

I don’t want to be that guy, but this is jumping to conclusions WAY too early. I’m sure the bricked windows and doors are just for the aesthetic of the map.

I'd love to see some sort of animal/creature type killer introduced. I'd personally like something reptilian in nature.

I want nautical type maps. Maybe beaches and old lighthouses or shipyards or something. Oh and the Kool Aid Man, get him in there. Oh Yeah!

Like I said, I know it's VERY early to be talking about things like this but it's all in good fun. Also, it might be a aesthetic thing but it seems extremely peculiar that i's in such certain spots. Like Paulie said though, they honestly could be there for RNG to decide where certain loops and doorways go but it's all 100% speculation currently.

RE Chapter: Would either have Claire or Leon as a survivor. Maybe even both, or just one in the form of Jill.
I’d imagine the next survivor is going to be a dude, or it’s going to be a year of female survivors and a year of male survivors, then licensed content.
It’s hard to tell with the recent releases.

That would be a boring killer. I mean you destroy a wall then your power would go on a long cooldown as they said and he just becomes m1 killer

I'd really like Trager as well. Chris Walker was scary because he was an absolute unit trying to destroy your pathetic existence. Trager was scary because he almost seemed sane. He could speak coherently. He lured Miles into the dumbwaiter with the promises of safety. He sounds really friendly. But next thing you know he cuts off a few of your fingers and threatened to cut your tongue out blah blah blah you crush him in an elevator.

New Killer: The Zucc
Ability: Privacy Settings. The Zucc has two modes. In Lizardman Mode, The Zucc gains the undetectable status. In CEO Mode, The Zucc can see the auras of all survivors, and all survivors can see The Zucc's aura.

Yeah, like what @Weck sadly said, Jason won't probably be settled until at LEAST the end of the year. That being said, Jason is basically the last piece of the slasher puzzle.

Like I initially said, I prefer Jill BUT literally would be thrilled with any RE content.
I don't think they'd do full female or male survivors for a full year but, who knows, the original pattern is completely out the window so you might be right.

The Smasher would be cool, definite interest.
I hope the next killer is a female though. It just seems like they are stronger and the devs put more work into them. Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Plague, and Huntress are all aesthetically pleasing and have strong powers.
I always get excited for a female killer because they’re usually the better killers in my opinion.

Pretty sure they said the next killer and survivor would be teased during the first archive back when they were announcing the archive on stream. If that holds out then it should be the Siren and female detective that was revealed in chapter 4.
