Why cant we just accept the fact the both sides of the community are toxic
Killers act as if survivors are crybabies and toxic but killers complain about every single nerf they get. when balanced landing was nerfed the posts i saw were survivors giving reasonable ideas to balance balanced landing and make it a fair perk and a few toxic posts. When ruin nerf was announced the posts im seeing are killers saying there gonna tunnel and bring moris. Im not hating on killers but u guys need to admit that survs arnt the only entitled ones in the community. Don't hate me plz
Edit: wow most of the comments are respectful and constructive

anything that touches a killers or survivor main base kit people will complain because they cant play how they use to.

Well there is a difference if a perk gets nerfed because it can create ininits and is legitment one of the strongest perk without any counterplay... and a nerf to a perk that is needed to fix a broken game balance somehow but is still not overpowered and random as hell. Ruin was in no way perfect, I didn't like that perk from the beginning... but low tier killers need it because the genspeed is not fine at all!
The devs straight up nerfed and destroyed ruin completly without any justification expect "new players" but didnt do any quality of life change to balance the nerf out. Ruin was taken to create EARLY game pressure not LATE game pressure...
Instead of adjusting and fixing the main problem the devs just fix something that wasn't necessary.

I don't 100% disagree with the new ruin, and I would be fully on board with it if they changed it to only activate a dull totem after 2-3 generators were completed since the devs say it's great for late game. But the way it is, it will almost 100% be destroyed before it's useful

You overestimate Ruin. Ruin is not that strong. It is not needed in a way you want it to be needed.
And to be honest, both are indeed compareable. The BL-Nerf was not necessary as well, because all the Maps were BL was strong still suck for Killers. So why not rework the Maps? Because its easier to just nerf BL.
@Topic:
When I read the Forums, only Survivors are toxic and Killers are Angels. And only toxic to pay back those Survivors who use a Flashlight to safe someone or dont go down in 2 seconds. Bloody Survivors!

I still don't understand why so many killers are using Ruin. In higher ranks survivors are just pushing through gens as Ruin wasn't there or one of them spawns directly in front of it and its gone instantly. So the time Ruin buys is almost unnotable to me. (Playing both sides, but as killer tried Ruin only a few times where it did almost nothing).

With balanced landing they just removed a thing that almost do nothing on the perk, also it's sightly rare see someone using it,but ruin is a perk that almost every killer use and it got completely changed

They removed the only reason to use Balanced Landing. Given the fact how situational it is, it is not worth a Perk Slot anymore. Ruin will most likely still be used (less, of course). I mean, Streamers and Youtubers already said that Ruin will still be good. Monto said that it "slows the game down, just a little bit" and is even doing that, when you are not a Potato. Tofu is predicting that people will say in a few months that new Ruin is OP (that is something I would doubt).
ikr?
Spawned on a Ruin yesterday. It was gone instantly and the Killer (Oni) got a 4K. This man must be a god when he still gets that without his Ruin!

Salt...

How am i salty lol. Can u deny the fact that there are alot of killer and survivor posts on the forums that are toxic and entitled. Both sides act entitled and toxic

Please allow me to make a small nerf suggestion to your thread title:
"WHY CANT WE JUST ACCEPT THE FACT THat there are toxic People On BOTH SIDES OF THE COMMUNITY
Are toxic"...or something like that!

No I mean that's why people hate on one another....they enjoy the salt.

When survivor perks are nerfed, the core functionality remains in the perk, and they are even given a trade off to compensate a lot of the time. In the case of BL, it only provided the stagger reduction when not exhausted after the nerf, but the trade off is you no longer make noise when dropping. Balance landing wasn't nerfed into obscurity, which is why survivors didn't complain much.
When killer things get nerfed, they get nerfed to the point of being useless. So saying that killers complain about getting nerfs, look at the nerfs they get compared to the barely nerfs survivors get. Complaining about that kind of injustice is not toxic.
If you really wanna compare - go back to when Self Care and DS were nerfed. There were literally review bombs on Steam.

I think it goes without saying. Both sides in this game can be toxic. It’s a competitive game and people hate losing. I think if more people played both sides, there would be less tension. Since playing killer, when I used to be survivor main, I did gain a whole new perspective. I’m also not as angry when I die as survivor because I can appreciate the killers tactics.

It's not a competitive game. The only thing competitive are the players. The game itself is so casual in nature it's basically a party game.

Yes, both sides are toxic. It's pretty sad actually.

Oh yeah I forgot you mention you can’t have an opinion either because there’s always some asshat who rushes your posts to tell you how wrong you are. See above ;)
Britney was right when she said “ toxic”.

I'm not telling you you're wrong. I'm simply telling you what the game is. Even the developers created the game with casual play in mind. It can not ever be a competitive game. Simply due to the RNG nature of it.
Now I'll tell you you're wrong - because "being told you're wrong" is not toxic.

Oh ok

Exactly. Came here to say just that - roles aren't toxic, people are, and it's by no means limited to DBD (to be fair, I think that is pretty much what the OP was trying to say).
2 -
I think a big reason both "sides" are toxic is because people view others as being on a "side."
Unless somebody is a dedicated survivor or killer player (Like the way SpaceCoconut almost exclusively plays Hag/killer) then it's really unfair to group them in with "survivor mains" or "killer mains" because that just turns into an excuse to make assumptions about somebody because "(survivor/killer) mains are so entitled and always think X, Y, and Z!"
I prefer to think of people as just players. With individual thoughts. Even within "maining" a role, people have different opinions about the game.

Because if you convince yourself that the people playing "the others" are inherently worse people it justifies your own potentially bad behavior. Accepting that people in general range from super nice people to people exclusively hunting their next fix of schadenfreude isn't as convenient.
