can the devs just... rework boil over.

That perk was really disappointing, but because i read the descrption wrong. I thought, your wiggle progress would increase by 75% and not the struggle effects.

It is currently like 2 hits instead of 1 (Down from 3) with boiled over I’d imagine.
It’s definitely not worth the perk slot.

Boil Over should have speed up wiggling speed like Breakout does.

I agree. There are a lot of perks that are fun to use (boil over, for example), but you need to set up your build around it. If every perk was universal, killers would stop playing killer.
Use Boil Over, Unbreakable (or no mither), Flip Flop, and Tenacity. Break hooks in a corner and whenever killer comes for you, stay in that corner. At the very least you'd be waisting time for your teammates to get stuff done.

i mean, that 20% that breakout gives you isn't even fast enough. maybe give the perk a 20% bonus to wiggle speed, the same wiggling effect values from before and increase the aura range a tiny bit more (4 meters, 6 max). then the perk could be okay.

It doesn't have to be that extreme lmao.

yeah just rework it completely. really don't see how people are commenting "just buff the numbers" like that's gonna do sum😹
0 -
It doesn't need a rework. The only thing it needs is to extend the range that killers can't see hook auras. That would increase it's value without making it broken.
1 -
oh my god.... have you not read what i've been saying... i still can't believe people think that's a reasonable buff.

You're right in that I didn't read the thread. I just skimmed it though and I still stand by my response. You are simply wrong if you think it should make it easier to wiggle out of the killer's grasp. There are times where hooks aren't very close. Having one perk shouldn't give survivor's completely safe zones to run to knowing the killer can't drag them far enough before they wiggle free. That isn't balanced. It's another thing altogether if the survivors actually put in the time and effort of breaking hooks. That comes at a real cost of loss progression on generators.
1 -
yeah i know. i don't see how people are concluding i'm asking for survivors to get a free escape each time. i'm not. the perk is so bad that it REQUIRES a rework in order to be somewhat viable. different effects.

What if they added an effect to the current boil over, where the survivor and/or killers aura is shown to all survivors while the survivor with boil over is being carried? It would probably make it better for flashlight and pallet saves. I'm just not sure if the killers aura should be seen too, or if that would be overkill.
Also for the entity helping survivor stuff, I feel like that's more like survivors breaking and molding the entity to their own benefit, like the Bloodweb. Except for the exit gate, that's just there to make sure the survivors have some hope at least, so they know they have an escape. Otherwise the entity couldn't feed on their emotions.

Even that is pretty iffy on maps like Hawkins where finding a hook is already a pain in the ass due to LOS blockers and the maze like setup of "wheres the door". On maps like autohaven, it wouldnt be an issue since you can still SEE hooks if you look around abit, with the aura reading blocking just giving abit of a chance for the killer to overlook one. Had this same thing get brought up awhile back when ppl were saying open handed should buff up aura blocking range of boil over.

Not gonna lie, it'd be great if you guys cared even HALF this much about killers suggesting their perks to be reworked or buffed..
0 -
some killer perks do need to be changed and i bet multiple people are discussing that in their own threads.
0 -
None of the devs respond though. You will NEVER see one of them say "Yeah great idea let's buff this killer perk :D" instead you might get a dev insulting you telling you that killer's opinions are wrong.
0 -
yeah true. the devs are so survivor-sided that it gets omn
1 -
You know it's only affecting the wiggle movement making the killer have to fight more right? It's not affecting the wiggle bar in any shape or form. Literally just for making the killer bump into more stuff.
0 -
no really, what else would it do?
0 -
Other then that sarcasm which is not really needed as I was just informing you. Quite a bit of people tend to think it increases the wiggle bar speed for some reason.
0 -
i already know what the perk does. i see how people think that but they should read the effects carefully. wiggling effects and wiggle speed are two different things
0 -
A lot of people who use it also tend to be newer players and play against things like Iron Grasp. If they don't know much about the mechanics they would not really now the difference either.
It's also the reason I mentioned how it works to you.
0 -
i'm not a newer player. also i really don't wanna argue, not here, not now. it's 11:40 in the morning and i'm pressed.
0 -
I don't see that as a problem. Some perks have more value on some maps compared to others. That is part of the risk vs reward of using it. If the killer can't find a hook without an aura then the killer didn't deserve the hook.
0 -
Then what are you asking for? A completely different perk? What's the point? New survivors will be added for new perks. If it was truly worthless like deja vu then I might agree. But boil over has it's place in the game. It is the only perk survivors have that make it more difficult for the killer to get you on a hook while being carried. Most of the time it is not going to stop you from being hooked. But it does waste some of the killers time and gives your team mates time to body block. It's not a meta perk and that's okay.
0 -
no dude, i'm just asking for the perk to be changed. at that point it would be like adding a new perk but it would just be easier to rework a perk they already have instead of having to like, implement a whole new perk which could take some time. the perk has barely any use and it's just a bad perk in general.
