Am I the only one who thinks the game is massively imbalanced in favor of survivors right now?
So yes I'm aware that jerks exist on both ends of the spectrum, but toxicity is 100% more prominent with high level survivors, which I think is directly linked to how much easier survivor success is right now than killer success. I run into so many survivors that give the role a bad name by being entitled crybabies who literally complain about anything and everything, unless they win, and when they win, they're also toxic about it either in chat, or abusing the remaining methods available to hold the game hostage as long as possible, and sadly it seems that reporting never leads to punishment. Anyway, Survivors literally have multiple answers via perks to every killer tactic, while killers are constantly getting nerfed still. Are the devs aware how difficult it is to even have fun playing killer right now, let alone with the new wave of nerfs? It's nearly impossible to play any slower killers right now because every match, the gens are rushed down so quickly that the game's over before I even have the chance to play certain killers the way they are intended. For me, ghostface and the shape are the two biggest issues. While ghostface moves fast, his core ability relies heavily on a stealthy approach, which makes him feel pretty terrible to play. The shape is just too slow in every aspect for the current state of the game. Why are killers constantly getting nerfs when they're already in a bad spot? Am I the only one concerned about this? I don't enjoy playing survivors personally, and as a killer main, this is pretty concerning to me.

I think most will agree that yes, the game definitely favors survivors a bit more, but atm it isn't by much. BHVR has done a good job removing almost all the BS survivors could use to cheese, they are working on improving maps which are the main problem the game has atm, and stronger killers have been released and the weaker killers have continued to get buffs. Now, a 4 man SWF is still obnoxious and frustrating, but it isn't that common, killers also have ways to really combat these people with more powerful killers, not to mention how a mori can turn a losing game into a cakewalk if you kill someone early on. All things considered the game is in a fairly good place right now, back in 2016 I would totally understand complaints about survivors being ridiculously OP, but nowadays it seems more balanced than ever

You are not the only one. But you are not correct on this one, the game is pretty balanced right now. Look back one or two years and then say again it is imbalanced in favor of Survivors right now.
Regarding Toxicity... Killers are toxic as well. What to keep in mind: For 1 Killer come 4 Survivors. This means the odds of having a toxic Survivor is 4 times bigger. And lets not forget that the human mind remembers the negative experiences more - if from 4 Survivors, one is toxic, you will keep that one in mind, but not the other 3 who were nice guys.

Regardless of the state of balance 1-2 years ago, I strongly disagree that the game is balanced right now, at least not for every killer. Again, any killer that relies on slower play is basically SOL currently. Also the spotting mechanic on ghostface is broken. How easily he's spotted severely needs to be evaluated. Anyway, While you're half correct on your reasoning with toxicity, 8 times out of 10 survivors are grouped together, and regularly are equally toxic, and that can be backed up with evidence. Then, there's the double standard survivors tend to have, where they complain to no end if a killer even appears to camp, slug, etc, even though those are both mechanics that survivors have answers to with perks, yet they feel it's perfectly acceptable to abuse game elements that are NOT mechanics, such as using their bodies to prevent hooking. There's a reason hooks can be disabled via tools, and body blocking hooks is abuse of game elements and is bannable by definition via the game's own rules put in place by the developers. A lot of survivor toxicity stems from a double standard that's fundamentally wrong.

There's perks that encourage or reward taking hits for someone else though. We're Gonna Live Forever gives stacks for protection hits, Breakout encourages running with the killer while they're carrying someone and makes bodyblocking more impactful. It's an intended thing, survivors trading a health state to either intercept a chase or delay a hook.
Claiming it's against the rules is like claiming a Hillbilly catching someone in a corner can't keep them there while chainsawing them. It specifically refers to taking the game hostage by bodyblocking. While it's an unpopular move even blocking someone in a corner to kill them with EGC isn't technically against any rules.
EDIT: Taking the game hostage or blatant griefing. Like a survivor blocking another survivor until the killer comes or something.

I think its only survivor sided if you use one of the weaker killers, or use no gen-speed slowing perks.
The devs are a bit slow with fixing things that annoy killers, so we have to life with those 2 circumstances.
Anyways... I guess sooner or later something will happen. Not because of the killer playerbase maybe, but many survivors wait at he moment very long for a new match.
And well... The only way to shorten this time would be to do something for the killer playerbase :).

Game was, is and always will be balanced in favour of survivors. We simply need more survivor players. Devs balance it arround r15 crybabies. If you don't believe me read the official new annoucing ruin and doc nerf. I have never seen such one sided text in my life.
If you want to make plays and be in a power role you can try to master Nurse, every other killer can only capitalize on survivors mistakes. If they make none then u get 0 hooks.
It is way better than before though. Pallet vacuum, one million pallets, Trapper and Hag setting traps speede beeing twice as long, old ds, old mom, exhaustion regenerating while running, infinites ect. It only shows how bad people are at this game that most still think its hard to survive. Its not and they are even removing one of very few things needing skill (ruin skillchecks). Remember update when dropping pallet on any time or flashlighting without timing would force killer to always drop survivors? Devs don't know crap about their game.
Rng doesn't help, enjoy Pig on wretched shop against survivors who actually usee brain. I used to play all killers but i'm done with this. Map design is too poor, i now only play Billy because he is not hard to master and is actually hard to bully. Of course good survivors will still loop him for ever, but at least you risk a lot by blocking good Billy or beeing too greedy.
Advice: Don't take the game too serious as killer. Be chill and many survivors will apreciate it. Add toxic can'ts on your mori list. If you follow them on steam you still see them on list even if they change name :). Also if survivors do dumb stuff just abuse it. If they refuse to do gens and hang out near hook just stay, grab them and throw on the ground. Smart survivors will leave you with one hook and depip though. Smart survivors - rare stuff.
About genrush: Corrupt Intervention, Bbq and Whispers should be your core build. Bloodwarden helps a lot too, if you hook person dead on hook slightly below half the timer noone is leaving unless they have a key. Remember that egc timer goes 2 times slower with survivor in dying state or on hook. You don't need to do anything sometimes, just stare and laugh.
In general you should have a clock on your desk and watch it when someone is unhooked. Then laugh and tbag about ds and bt.
Since you like Myers i will give you one thing i discovered while doing random perk wheels. Don't use noed, it really isn't even a good perk. Only exception beeing Myers. Very few people expect it on him and if you do well during the match they will asume you don't need it and wont do totems. Important thing is to have t3 ready. They broke totem? Pop t3. Umad bois? I caught ofguard so many players considered top with this crap.

For swf you mean. Play solo survivor then come back and say its balanced in favour of survivors.

After reading various comments and playing more last night, I was overreacting a bit. Yes some matches are annoying af, but I guess it's balanced enough. I guess I shouldn't complain considering I can still get hooks and kills. That being said though, I do feel like Gen times are a bit strong rn. Especially when that ruin nerf hits, killers won't have much in terms of slowing gens down, and a Gen can be finished in like 30 seconds easily. I mean i don't use ruin because I don't have it, but they're making the perk suck, when half of the killer perks already suck. I also don't agree with the doctor nerf, but I digress. I still enjoy killer more than survivor, but for me, survivor isn't fun.
