Hex: Ruin, A Solution? My friends and I are red ranks survivors and killers and we may have an idea to help alleviate the pressure that ruin has brought to everyone. First, what are the problems and reasons to it? People dislike the RNG of it. It last forever in low ranks but is gone in the first minute of high ranks. It is definitely a perk needed to help Set up killers and ramp up killers reach their potential. Good survivors can definitely finish a gen or 2 with ruin up or 3 gens if ruin was taken in the first 2mins of the game. This can depend on killer choice or choice of items though. So what can help make Ruin more manageable for both sides because as of now I believe ruin does need to exist but at the same time does need a change. We came up with 2 solutions. So the first option is to make it a flat % increase to gen time which will be 10%/15%/20%, we will also take away great skill checks. This will get rid of the RNG while also not punishing new players for hitting skill checks. Now we are not sure whether to make this a Hex or just a perk. Obviously this will be an overall nerf to Ruin if it is still a Hex, However it will be a buff if Ruin just becomes a perk and probably a staple in every killers build which leads us to option two. We make Ruin crazy annoying. So we keep the gen time increase while also making skill checks come at an increase rate 17%/38%/50% more skill checks, and lastly make missed skill checks cause regression. This will give good reason to keep ruin as a Hex while creating an incentive to look for it while also rewarding skilled player for hitting good and great skill checks so rapidly. So obviously this is all up to debate but we do feel this may help ruin not be as bad as it is currently.
