I was able to play 2 full matches without issue. I used the epic games version of the game through Heroic. Then from heroic's settings I set proton experimental, and then added it to steam via HeroicBashLauncher, and set the launch script that it generated to use steam's own eac runtime. Well, with the removal of the game from Stadia in 2023, I will no longer be able to play this game, due to EAC not being enabled, and all alternative options being removed. I will not dual boot just to play DBD.

That means they updated their EasyAntiCheat version. Which hopefully means once the update releases, they would enable EAC.

Enabling steam deck support isn't technically just one button, as you need to tweak controls and add touch screen support. However enabling linux support is just one button in the EAC settings panel.
