Thanks for keeping the post updated! The 2 years flew by lol.

Thanks Mandy! Have a great rest of your week.

The CM is out of the office. They will probably reply to Niko's @'s when they get around to it. Even if we get the same response as before, I image we are close to getting Steam Deck support. The UI changes are already in-place for Steam Deck.

The disconnect probably counts as dodging a match. I wouldn't try matchmaking more than once per day.
-
The fact that the game ran on the Steam Deck for a day probably means they are close to officially announcing support. I am still hopeful.

I took a pic

It just shows like the menu button and the other button. Similar to this picture. Other buttons look like the regular xbox ABXY etc.

I just played an entire multiplayer game on the Steam Deck through Steam. I did use ProtonGE, but I don't know if it is necessary. Just make sure you have "Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime" installed in your Steam Library under the tools section. There are also Steam Deck buttons used in the main menu UI, so they might…

I can confirm. I went into Desktop mode on the Steam Deck and installed the "Proton Runtime" under the tools group in my Steam Library. I now no longer get the "EAC failed to initialize" message when launching the game. I can join online lobbies and ready up but once the game starts I get a generic "disconnected" message.…

Thanks for keeping us updated!

Thank you for sending a respectful request. Topics surrounding Linux gaming can get a little toxic at times.

Just got my 1 year anniversary badge on this forum account. I created this account the same month this thread was created.

That's not really the real problem. Put simply, Dead by Daylight was originally a peer-to-peer game. This means that in older versions of the game, one of the 5 players in a match (including the killer) hosted the game lobby from their computer. This saves money for the developer by offloading the cost of running servers…

While I would have agreed with this mentality in the past, the Linux gaming scene has changed completely over the last couple years. In the past, developers had to make game builds specifically for Linux. This would result in hundreds of bugs that would cost precious developer time and lots of money to fix and maintain.…

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date Mandy. It is frustrating that the devs don't have any new information. For those out of the loop, Steam Deck support was confirmed 9 months ago. They said that the Steam deck would not be supported at launch, but the launch was back in late February. There have been hints of Steam Deck…

Bump. Still unable to play DBD on my Steamdeck and PC.

Maybe some SteamDeck news around the 6th anniversary update? 😁 The devs have to be close to enabling EAC for Linux. They added some of the files required for Linux a couple of updates back.

This is literally the only thing preventing me from running linux full time.
