DBD should be banished to the Epic graveyard.
-
I wish Valve would name and shame Devs not supporting steamdeck, maybe the public embarrassment would light a fire under their ass.
-
Anyone wanna take a bet that China reaches net zero emissions before DBD releases on Linux? 🤣
-
Unfortunately devs usually get zero choice in what they work on, it won't be a development issue, it'll be management prioritising other things.
-
That's how you build a terrible reputation for your company. It's not just this, there have been so many things this company have done even before I switched to Linux that have led me to never want to give them any money again, and I know I'm not alone in thinking that. I really hope they turn a corner and can start…
-
I think they must be aiming to be ready after the launch of the Steam Deck 2.0 in 2025
-
I actually get flawless performance on linux with a 2070 Super, you just gotta make sure you're defo running kernel 5.18 or later, between 5.15 (default) and 5.18 they did some voodoo magic to make nvidia cards perform 20-25% better. Adding DXVK_ASYNC=1 as a param improves 90% of games too.

Literally any communication at all at this point would be nice.
-
Agreed, not really an issue with the community manager, you can only work with what you're given. But from our side, there's only so long you can "watch this space" for. I appreciate that it's not "just pressing a button", but the lack of communication certainly seems to indicate that is less a case of it taking this long…
-
Still would be nice to get confirmation of whether they plan to tie the game to SteamOS/Steamdeck or whether they plan to enable it for Linux as a whole
-
There is a difference, Steamdeck has a very specific linux kernel version, it's entirely possible to enable proton support for a game only on Steamdeck and not Linux as a whole, multiple developers have discussed it.
-
Can you confirm whether DBD will be playable on Linux? That is seemingly the main topic of discussion here, but you seem to have been quite adamant about always saying specifically Steam Deck and not Linux.
