Yes, I made a copy of them prior making the change.

No in-game settings seem to have any impact on this issue nor any Dead by Daylight properties changes in the Steam library (DLC's, controller, launch options). Deleting my local Dead by Daylight data fixed that problem for me too and I've made a copy of them. I can share them if that would be helpful,
