It will. They are gonna make it so it stuns pretty much as soon as it begins to be thrown down rather than at the end so that means that if you press space you will not be hit.

The separate good/great zone idea seems really cool. What would you do with people that miss the struggle phase skillcheck?

Disconnects are experienced by everyone really. It's annoying and can ruin the game but there's nothing you can do about it. Hopefully the devs will make disconnects have harsher punishments in the future but for now there's no real punishment.

"the killer STILL manages to hit me and still get stun while at it" They are planning to make pallets more responsive as stated in the last Q&A video.
