It could be the statues trigger the full moon and therefore he transforms. And maybe make the survivors able to hinder them or make them unavailable for a while but also the survivor suffers a de-buff like he can be seen by the killer or insta downed.

I couldn't think of anything related to the moon but maybe the "Totems of the beast" could make the full moon appear and then he transforms, and If the survivors can sabotage them they receive a de-buff like the killer can see you at all times or something. And i thought the howl could be scaring the survivors to the point…
