And i was starting to wonder how I could stood this day without my regulary "We told You we do not care"-dosis..

Sorry, but You missed the point: it is the freaking UNREAL-Engine. Runs natviely on Linux. Proton handles the P2P the same way that Windows does, so it is left to EAC and maybe the UI (where I do not see any point of issue). So in fact: they do not care. And it is making me quite disappointed.

Triple Boot Laptop with Win11 (only for DBD...), Linux Mint Cinnamon and Manjaro KDE.
-
Yes, sorry. You are right. I forgot about You initial post.
-
Here is the point: DBD already runs on Linux if You can avoid EAC. In doing a bit of a hack, some Users already were able to play the tutorials (or, as far as I remember, at least the "old" killer tutorial), but were unable to connect to other players. So I am deeply afraid of -if they will start support SteamDeck support…

Just read the posts from "mandytalk" in this thread or watch the totally shown ignorance on this topic at the developer´s stream three or four episodes ago. From mandytalk, You might get something like "We already told You we will announce it in time, and there will be only support for Steamdeck" or something along this.

The "specific Linux kernel" manages the input and the Steamdeck display drivers. All of that is included in SteamOS, which You can use next to a normal GNU/Linux-based OS. However, since the Dead By Daylight engine is supported by Linux, the only issue there is the EAC. And I am quite upset how BHVR handles this, and I am…

Not such good news...this happened already before, if I remember correctly, about the time around the 5th anniversary time.
-
It is only DBD in my library. But I just have about a dozen of games overall on steam. Would be awesome to be able to switch completely to Manjaro (or LMDE, have not decided yet).
-
Sorry, but I doubt that. The UNREAL-Engine runs usually native on Linux, and the SDK for EAC is just an update without any further implements. In case of the Steam/Proton-issue, it IS a few mouseclicks.
-
:( Because updating a server tool and do literally 5 mouseclicks on Steam take several weeks?
-
I wanted this to work on Linux ever since DBD was in beta. This is truely the only game which keeps me using Windows, and I hate it. Please, do it quickly, at least on Steam it is only a few mouseclicks for devs.
