Definitely not the case, I have looked for it for a while now. Usually that box is supposed to be ticked if it is working correctly. Thank you for taking the time to try help though.

This is exactly right. For me in the past, if I have bought it in the shrine of secrets, there is a tick. If it is empty then it means it is available in the shrine. It is directly contradicting what my shrine of secrets is saying.
