Pirates were often ex sailors or apart of the Royal Navy etc. Master of Hounds is a legit title in British (and probably other) contexts. So part of me thinks it’s the pirate rebelling with the title - like even if she never had anything to do with the navy or whatever she may have adopted the title or others name her thus…
