It's the game itself that is causing it. I've had 15 games as survivor where I just warp back to a point I hadn't been since early in the game, but was still able to do objectives and get hooked. Give it some time and they'll put him up for sale for 9000 Iridescent Shards. You'll need to play a heck of a lot though to save up. I unlock 300 per level in the upper 60s.
