  • Has there been any public statement from BHVR about this yet besides direct emails? I don't want to get invested in it just for it to be another thanksgiving day accident just to get blocked from the game again >_>
  • I ended up buying it on Epic in addition to owning it on Steam and I regret it. Opening epic is so much more of a hassle than just playing the games that are on the steam deck home screen so I never do it. I wish they would just enable the anticheat for steam already.
  • Damn I was so excited that I got to play a bunch of matches yesterday that I planned for a game night today with my friends which I now have to cancel last minute because half of us can't play again :(
  • Ah! That's crazy. For me I don't get a 500 error on live matches, just a generic "disconnected" message. That's great to hear though, I assumed there was still some server sided thing that needed to be enabled to join live matches but it seems we're even closer to being able to play if it's just a client issue. I was…
  • Full tutorial matches yep - multiplayer still doesn't work but I've played a handful of tutorial matches without issue. I first noticed it started working on my steam deck and when trying on my laptop I forgot to install the eac runtime on my laptop, so I deleted the game fully as well as the proton prefix, so I pretty…
  • For me it's working out of the box in steam, seems a lot easier than in heroic. I just had to install "Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime" from my steam library and it works out of the box.
  • Pro tip: Don't forget to install "Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime" from your steam library if it didn't install automatically. I was having the unable to instantiate eac error when I tried to play on my laptop until I did that, I guess it was already installed on my steam deck.
  • I'm actually able to play the tutorial now on my steam deck! Using the default proton which for me is 7.0-4. Surprising considering the radio silence here. Hopefully multiplayer matches will be enabled soon...
  • I haven't yet spent hundreds on DBD, but as a completionist at heart, it would be hard to resist spending hundreds on my favorite survivor if the game was actually playable on deck instead of getting stuck at the loading screen with EAC initialization errors.
  • Another update another crash initializing eac :(
  • According to the KDE devs, valve has shipped over a million units, that's a lot of potential DBD players. And the backorder queue will be empty this week or next week. Sales are only gonna increase when you can have one shipping within a few days of ordering. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0gEIeFgDX0&t=1785s
  • Bhvr this coulda been you but u playin (The Steam/PC version of P5 here is played on a Steam Deck in case it's hard to see)
  • Can confirm, after launching it repeatedly maybe 20-50 times I managed to get to the menu too, though I spent too long trying to line up my phone to snap a pic to get anywhere besides the main menu before it exited. Nowadays and despite the most recent update, I still just get crashed out at the loading screen, no failed…
  • I tried for a while with remote play but the inconsistent latency made skill checks impossible to predict, on top of just the general added latency making it so I have to hit skill checks extra early. So I'm worried playing like that will just make it harder to switch back to non-remote play, and also makes all my…
  • Sad to see this never got fixed :( Would really love to play this on my steam deck or linux pc
  • How does stadia fare doing skill checks? I tried in home streaming from a roommates pc but even over gigabit lan the added latency really throws me off and I don't want to get too used to it.
  • What a silly idea founded on the faults of client sided cheat detection. Any devs worth their reputation would implement server sided validation of perks, stats, player locations, visibility, and actions and be done with it. The fact that cheaters fly around the map show that the devs aren't doing the most they can, so…
  • So close yet so far :( at least I get 60fps lol. It's a shame I can't even get into a practice game while we wait for eac to be fixed.
  • I would be 110% happy even without touch and gyro support. Though they are nice to haves, I just want to be able to play the game. As long as they make sure you don't have to whip out a keyboard to press space to get past the title screen or manually map the controls, I'm happy. There's a lot less that needs tweaking if…
  • Tweet at them to enable multiplayer on steam deck :) My deck is in the mail so it couldn't happen soon enough. I simply can't hit skill checks when streaming from a windows pc due to the streaming lag. I'm literally buying an hdmi over ethernet adapter to try to get a lower latency connection so I can play since I don't…
  • Lets gooooooo! Looking forward to seeing the server side enabled :)
  • Horizon zero dawn, cuphead, death stranding, hitman, superhot, all verified, it would be amazing to see DBD join that list. And @MandyTalk , omano is right. enabling steamdeck is the same as enabling for linux+proton. Steam deck IS linux+proton, so whenever anyone says "linux support", you can just interpret it as…
  • This is fantastic news! Now both EAC and BattleEye games can support linux in actually a few clicks. No changes to game code or SDK updates required. I've been wanting to play DBD for so long, thanks to Valve bending over backwards to get game developers access to these easy options maybe we will be able to play soon :)…
  • According to The Verge this morning, this is now planned :) Maybe the news just hasn't reached everyone in the company yet but this is promising. Dead by Daylight — Yes “I can confirm that we have plans of updating our EAC to support the Steamdeck in the future,” a Behaviour Interactive rep tells The Verge.…
  • Precisely. Just don't block us from trying or ban us for making workarounds, most of us will happily work with proton, wine, and crossover devs to make the game work - we just need a chance.
  • While active, game sales will be buffed All features implemented within range of Few Clicks' aura will receive discounted development cost Perk applies a multiplier to the player base stat
  • +1 this would be amazing - especially to be able to play on the Steam Deck when it launches. Epic makes it sound like enabling proton support is pretty straightforward: "developers can activate anti-cheat support for Linux via Wine or Proton with just a few clicks in the Epic Online Services Developer Portal"…
