I've seen two people say they tested an anti camping mechanic and it was abused, but what was the mechanic? It seems absurd that they would go "We tried this one way and it was abused so there can never be an anti-camping mechanic ever"

Well the map being killer sided or survivor sided is dependent on the killer. For example Racoon Police Department is awful for someone like Clown or Freddy but Wraith THRIVES on that map. I've always thought that if the killer stays around the hook for too long they start losing sound and vision. Making it so they can't see when someone's about to be unhooked. But again the devs have said that camping is a valid strategy and they don't want to discourage it for some reason.
