I love endgame collapse. Adds a lot more strategy! I've personally never lost as survivor once endgame collapse is activated, but I've had lots of fun ruining survivors' days by closing the hatch.

I like to take advantage of the fact that they probably are in communication-- makes use for good mind games!!
