A bit more to this: I've also experienced this bug a few times. A sign that it's bugged is that when your break a gen/pallet or when you pick up a survivor you don't see any chains. This bug also makes it to if you cancel out of the chain portal before placing it you'll be unable to interact with anything or attack…
