In Midwich Elementary school you can find a totem under a table and climb up the totem and on to the table so the killer can't pick the survivor up. It's in the room where the floor has collapsed and you can go upstairs. The three survivors in this image waited on the table until they bled out and they were in a group.
There is a rock next to a pallet on Ormund that the survivors can climb up and be untouchable for killers. The way you can climb it is in front of Nemesis.
Not sure why but all of the challenges that require you to hook survivors in the basement won't gain any progress.
