I'd be fine if you (as a survivor) had to play the character you loaded in with, and only with whatever item you selected beforehand. Survivors would still be able to change their clothes, perks…1 -

Pokemon GO has a feature to tell who you are friends with when raiding (the glowing lines around the person). DBD could have something similar to indicate a SWF group.1
