I agree, But the devs have said in the past this is a viable strategy to counter ruin as it takes even longer to complete the gen compared to getting great skill checks2 -

Yes we want a free unique mori where if there is a hatch standoff the killer can grab the survivor and crush their head in the trap door multiple times1
