I've experienced both and Dead Hard generates a very similar feeling to what eruption creates. Except eruption doesn't force me to chase and mind game someone for that additional 30 seconds.1 -

These icons can replace some perks by having a rough idea of where people are, when you last saw them, and what they're now doing. Two people on a gen, you get chased away, person stays on gen. …1 -
