Yeah I always wondered about that - the only purpose they serve is to encourage the killer to come back to the hook and tunnel. Maybe in our near future we'll have a perk that makes unhooks sile…1 -

And since survivor queues are usually instant - they go looking for that fun someplace else if you aren't giving it.1
